  • Below are the current odds and previews of the matches with our best bets

Due to COVID-19, the dates for the Sofia Open saw themselves shift to November 9-14. The tournament’s only been around since 2016 but has attracted its fair amount of notable players. Only one seeded player is left to compete in the semifinals of the tournament and that is Adrian Mannarino.

There have been a few upsets leading up to the semis, and this is easily any one of the last four players’ left tournament to win.

Mannarino vs Sinner Semifinal Odds

Player Spread (Games) Moneyline Total Games
[5] Adrian Mannarino +4.5 (-120) +320 Over 20.5 (-120)
Jannik Sinner -4.5 (-120) -450 Under 20.5 (-120)

Odds taken Nov 12 at Bet365

19-year-old Jannik Sinner saw his toughest opponent in the quarterfinals, where he upset number three seed Alex de Minaur in three sets, coming back to win 6(3)-7(7), 6-4, 6-1, after going down a set. He now leads the head-to-head record with de Minaur 2-0. In the match that lasted two hours and 11 minutes, Sinner won 80-percent of his first-serve points, while saving six of the seven break points he faced.

Sinner now enters his second ATP Tour semifinal of the year and is looking to reach his first ATP Tour championship. He’s now 17-11 on the year.

Adrian Mannarino is making his fifth straight appearance at the Sofia Open this year and is doing much better than he’s ever done, with his best appearance prior to this year happening in 2016 when he lost in the quarterfinals. Mannarino hasn’t had the easiest ride to the semis, having dropped two sets in his three matches played so far.

This semifinal meeting between the two players will be the first time these two have seen each other in their careers. It does look to be a fairly balanced matchup between the two. It’s worth noting that both players’ biggest wins have come on a hardcourt surface, showing their both very comfortable. This match might come down to fitness and fatigue. Because there’s not much to go off of, the edge will come from that. And right now, that’s leaning towards Sinner.

Best Bet: Sinner in three sets

Pospisil vs Gasquet Semifinal Odds

Player Spread (Games) Moneyline Total Games
Vasek Pospisil -2.5 (-125) -188 Over 22.5 (-120)
Richard Gasquet +2.5 (-110) +150 Under 22.5 (-120)

Vasek Pospisil hasn’t had the hardest route to get to the semifinals of this tournament. He advanced to the semis after defeating sixth seed John Millman 6-3, 6-2 in just over an hour. Pospisil was able to break his opponent four of six times while winning 73-percent of his service points. To compare, his opponent, Millman, was only able to break Pospisil once and only win 50-percent of his service points. Arguably the difference in the match.

Richard Gasquet has yet to drop a set this tournament in his three matches. Like his semifinal opponent, he hasn’t had a tough route to the semis, possibly even easier than Pospisil. His serve has been relatively strong throughout and will be looked at as one of his strengths. This semifinal match will be the toughest opponent for each player thus far in the tournament.

These two players have seen each other a fair amount of times before. Pospisil holds the edge with a 3-2 head-to-head record over Gasquet. Their matches date back to 2013, with their most recent one coming earlier this year in Montpellier France, where Pospisil won when Gasquet had to retire due to injury. All their matches have come on hard courts, with the most recent one being indoors. This will be a close match between the two players, but it does seem that Pospisil has the slight edge that will allow him to defeat Gasquet.

Best Bet: Pospisil in three sets
