In a potential first-round playoff preview, the Las Vegas Aces (19-14, 8-9 away, ATS) visit the Phoenix Mercury (19-12, 11-15 home, ATS) at PHX Arena at 7:00 pm PT/10:100 pm ET on Friday night. With just nine games remaining, the Mercury hold a one-game lead on fourth, which would give them home-court advantage in round one.
But Phoenix is a disappointing 4-6 in its last ten and faces a Las Vegas team that has won five straight. Despite their disparate trajectories, oddsmakers still give the Mercury a sizeable advantage tonight.

Las Vegas Aces vs Phoenix Mercury Odds
Unfortunately, the Aces/Mercury odds don’t show a lot of variety. The spread is 4.5 across the board, and all books have the price at -110 each way. The game total is almost as uniform; most books have the number at 168.5, and most have -110 each way again. FanDuel is offering over 168.5 at -108, while bet365 has it half-a-point higher at 169.0 with -110 odds on the under.
There is a little more variety on the moneyline. Bettors can get the Aces as high as +165 at bet365 (and as short as +150 at BetMGM). The best moneyline price on a Phoenix victory is -190 at BetMGM.
SPORTSBOOK
Despite the impressive wins streak, the Aces are still only sixth in the WNBA title odds at +2000, a massive decline from their preseason price of +320. The Mercury are the +800 third-favorite, trailing only the WNBA-leading Lynx (+155) and reigning-champion Liberty (+170).
Phoenix had its three-game win streak broken last time out, falling 74-66 at home to Atlanta. Alyssa Thomas (16.1 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 9.0 APG) led Phoenix in points, rebounds, and assists (21, 8, 5).
Las Vegas continued its charge up the standings with an 83-77 home victory over New York, which was missing Breanna Stewart. Jewell Loyd (11.7, 3.6 RPG, 1.8 APG) had a team-high 21 points off the bench, while A’ja Wilson (22.0 PPG, 9.8 RPG, 3.4 APG) had 17 points, 16 rebounds, and four dimes.

Wilson has the highest point total on the board at 22.5, six higher than any other player. The Kahleah Copper (15.4 PPG, 2.9 RPG, 1.7 APG) has the highest total on the Phoenix side at just 15.5 points.
Thomas, the closest thing to Nikola Jokic in the WNBA, has the highest rebound and assist totals for the Mercury at 8.5 apiece.
LV Aces vs PHX Mercury Picks & Prediction
Phoenix has only lost five games on its home court this season, but one came last time out and another came against the same Las Vegas team they’ll be facing on Friday night. The Aces entered the season with a win total six games higher than the Mercury (30.5 vs 24.5) and are finally starting to show the form that produced back-to-back WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023.
There is no doubt that Wilson’s supporting cast is not what it used to be but both Loyd and Jackie Young (17.0 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 4.6 APG) have picked up the slack of late. The latter has three 20-point games in her last five outings.
The Mercury are just 1-6 in their last seven games against teams with winning records, and the only win was against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever.
Now is a great time to bet the Aces at big plus-money.
I’m also targeting the under on Kahleah Copper’s point total of 15.5, a number she’s failed to exceed in the last three, and six of the last nine. She was held to 11 and 15 in the first two games against Las Vegas this year, as well.
