Sunday’s matchup between the Las Vegas Aces (12-13, 5-9 away, 9-16 ATS, 11-14 O/U) and Dallas Wings (7-18, 4-7 home, 11-14 ATS, 13-12 O/U) was supposed to be a battle between three-time and reigning WNBA MVP A’Ja Wilson and latest first-overall pick Paige Bueckers. But Bueckers (rest) has been ruled out, and oddsmakers believe her absence will make a significant difference.
The Aces and Wings will meet at College Park Center in Arlington, TX, at 3:00 pm CT/4:00 pm ET on Sunday, July 27th. Though Dallas has shown marked improvement since starting the season 1-11, Wilson and the Aces are heavy road favorites over the shorthanded Wings.
Las Vegas Aces vs Dallas Wings Odds
The Aces/Wings odds favor Las Vegas by at least 8.5 points and by as many as 9.0 at some books. The best ATS betting option for Las Vegas backers is currently -8.5 (-110) at bet365. The best ATS option for Dallas bettors is +9.0 (-110) at FanDuel. On the moneyline, the Wings are as long as +320 at Caesars. Bet365 once again has the best price for Las Vegas at -390. The game total is 167.5 at most books but FanDuel has the O/U half-a-point lower at 167.0, making it the go-to book for over bettors today.

When these teams met in Arlington just before the All-Star break (July 16th), Las Vegas won 90-86 but Dallas covered as a 6.5-point favorite thanks to 34-18 fourth quarter. (Las Vegas led 72-52 after three.) With Bueckers out of the lineup, the line has moved towards Vegas by as many as 2.5 points, despite Dallas covering the most-recent matchup.
The updated WNBA Championship odds show that the Aces have plummeted since starting the season as +380 second-favorites to the reigning-champion New York Liberty. The 2022 and 2023 champs are now +2285 longshots, on average. That’s still miles ahead of Dallas (), which is five games back of Las Vegas for the eighth and final playoff berth with two teams in between (Golden State, Los Angeles) and just 20 games remaining.

Per usual, Wilson (22.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 3.2 APG) leads the point totals with an O/U of 23.5. She absolutely dominated Dallas when the teams met on July 16th, pouring in 37 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Wilson had a run of four straight 20-plus-point games snapped last time out against New York, when she was held to just 15 points and seven rebounds in an ugly 109-78 loss.
Arike Ogunbowale (15.9 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 3.9 APG) has the highest total on the Dallas side at 19.5 O/U. That’s a big increase from her season average, motivated largely by the absence of leading-scorer Bueckers (18.1 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 5.8 APG).
Aces vs Wings Picks & Predictions
Almost every bone in my body wants to bet Dallas to win as a +320 longshot. The Aces are still being overvalued, especially on the road. Wilson is still the best player on the planet, but she can’t win games alone, and her supporting cast is not what it used to be.
But with Bueckers out – plus forwards Maddy Siegrist () and Myisha Hines-Allen () – the Wings are too short-handed for me to bet on. Wilson obliterated the Dallas frontcourt less than two weeks ago, and she’s apt to do so again.
There are two player props I like, though. The first is Ogunbowale to stay under 17.5 points. Oddsmakers have bumped this number too high in the absence of Bueckers. Ogunbowale has already played five games sans Bueckers this season, and she’s averaged just 14.2 PPG, well under her season average of 15.9 PPG. Sure, Ogunbowale’s usage will be up, but Bueckers is an elite distributor whose presence is a boon to every Dallas player.
The second is Wilson to go over 9.5 rebounds. She had ten last time the teams met, and I can’t see Dallas shooting a high percentage on Sunday. Wilson will feast on the defensive glass as the Wings’ offense flails.
