  • [December 24] The Bills officially clinched the AFC East with their win over the Bears in Week 16.
  • [December 12] The Bills have moved from heavy -440 favorites to win the division to -1300 favorites after they beat the Jets in Week 14 and the Dolphins lost to the Chargers.
  • [November 13] A second straight loss has resulted in the Bills dropping to third in the AFC East standings, but they remain the odds-on favorites to win the division. Buffalo’s odds did at least fade from -275 to -180.
  • [November 6] The Bills’ divisional odds faded from -1200 to -550 after losing to the Jets in Week 9. Miami, who picked up a win over the Bears, went from +1000 to +575.
  • [September 25] Buffalo remains the odds-on favorite to win the AFC East after losing to the Dolphins in Week 3. The Bills’ divisional odds did fade from -400 to -260, though.
  • [September 11] The Patriots’ odds to win the AFC East faded from +450 to +900 after losing to Miami in Week 1. The Buffalo Bills have become even heavier favorites, though, after a dominant performance against the Rams.
  • [March 23] With the acquisition of Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ divisional odds quickly improved from +675 to +430. It didn’t take long for their odds to continue improving, now landing at +400. This ties them with the Patriots for the second-best odds to win the AFC East, while Buffalo remains the favorite. The Bills’ odds did worsen a little, though, going from -225 to -185.
  • [February 24] The Buffalo Bills, who have won the AFC East each of the last two seasons, have opened as heavy odds-on favorites to win the division in the 2022-23 NFL season. The Patriots have opened with the second-best odds to win the AFC East at +330, while the Jets are again extreme long shots at +2500.

The Bengals won the AFC North for a second straight year in the 2022-23 season.

Odds to Win the AFC North

Team Odds
Cincinnati Bengals -240
Baltimore Ravens +190
Cleveland Browns N/A
Pittsburgh Steelers N/A

Odds as of December 28.

Here are some notes on the AFC North odds movement:

  • [December 18] The Bengals have taken back over as the favorites to win the AFC North after they beat the Bucs in Week 15 and the Ravens lost to the Browns.
  • [December 4] Cincinnati got a huge win over the Chiefs in Week 13, while the Ravens lost Lamar Jackson for what is believed to be days or weeks, but not for the season, to injury. Baltimore’s divisional odds faded from -260 to -140. The Bengals closed the gap, moving from +215 to +120.
  • [October 10] A win over the Bengals in Week 5 has turned the Ravens back into odds-on favorites to win the AFC North. Baltimore’s divisional odds went from +100 to -200 with the win. Every other team in the division suffered a loss in Week 5.
  • [September 11] In spite of losing to the Steelers in Week 1, the Bengals still have the second-best odds to win the AFC North. Their odds did dip from +160 to +330, though. Pittsburgh still has the worst odds to win the division, but they did improve from +1100 to +550.
  • [August 18] The Browns’ divisional odds have taken another dip with the NFL announcing an 11-game suspension for Deshaun Watson. Cleveland was once the favorite to win the AFC North, but are now +450 and well behind the Ravens and Bengals.
  • [July 26] The Baltimore Ravens have taken over as the favorites to win the AFC North with Deshaun Watson reportedly likely to face some sort of suspension. The Browns’ divisional odds have faded from +170 all the way to +320.
  • [March 18] The Cleveland Browns have gone from the third-best odds to win the AFC North to the best odds after Deshaun Watson has chosen them as his preferred trade destination. Cleveland will be giving up three first-round picks, as well as a third-round and a fourth-round pick. They have taken over as the favorites to win their division already. Both Cincinnati and Baltimore see their divisional odds fade from +175 to +210.
  • [March 13] Adding Amari Cooper from the Cowboys has not resulted in the Browns’ AFC North odds improving whatsoever, according to Caesars Sportsbook.
  • [March 9] The Bengals and Ravens are now listed as co-favorites to win the AFC North. There has not been any major player movement to drive this change, rather the public feeling Cincinnati may not be perennial contenders just yet.
  • [February 24] After surprisingly winning the AFC North last season, the Bengals have opened as the favorites to win the division again in 2022. They are only slight favorites over the Ravens, who are given +190 odds to win the AFC North. With Ben Roethlisberger retiring, the Steelers are given the worst odds to win the division at +650.

Perhaps the most surprising division winner from 2022-23 NFL season was the Jacksonville Jaguars, who wrapped up the AFC South in the final week of the regular season.

Odds to Win the AFC South

Team Odds
Jacksonville Jaguars -250
Tennessee Titans +200
Indianapolis Colts N/A
Houston Texans N/A

Odds as of December 28.

Here are some notes on the AFC South odds movement:

  • [December 23] Jacksonville beat New York 19-3 in Week 16 behind another strong performance from Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars are now the favorites to win the division, although they are still half a game behind Tennessee.
  • [December 18] After losing to the Chargers in Week 15, paired with the Jaguars upsetting the Cowboys, Tennessee is still favored to win the AFC South. The Titans’ odds did fade from -580 to -150, though. Jacksonville improved from +460 to +130.
  • [October 23] Tennessee beat Indianapolis for the second time this season in Week 7 (19-10). With the win, the Titans are back to being the favorites to win the AFC South. Their divisional odds improved from +160 to -125.
  • [October 4] Indianapolis was still favored to win the AFC South after losing to the Titans in Week 4, but Jacksonville took over as of Monday in spite of losing to the Eagles the day prior.
  • [September 25] The Colts remain the favorites to win the AFC South after upsetting the Chiefs in Week 3, but the Jaguars now have the second-best odds to win the division after their 2-1 start.
  • [September 18] Indianapolis was shutout in Week 2 by the Jaguars, keeping them winless on the season. The Colts’ odds to win the AFC South went from -140 to +135, while Jacksonville’s divisional odds improved from +650 to +360
  • [September 7] The Colts enter the 2022-23 NFL season as pretty significant odds-on favorites to win the AFC South. Indianapolis’ divisional odds have improved from -115 to -140, as Tennessee’s have faded from +140 to +190.
  • [July 26] The Colts have become odds-on favorites to win the AFC South thanks to the Titans trading away AJ Brown during the NFL Draft.
  • [March 21] With the Colts acquiring Matt Ryan, Indianapolis is now listed as the co-favorite to win the AFC South alongside the Tennessee Titans. The Colts’ odds improved from +150 to +115.
  • [March 11] After trading away their starting quarterback Carson Wentz, the Colts’ divisional odds went from +145 to +150. Sportsbooks obviously do not think much of Wentz, and believe Indianapolis will wind up with a serviceable quarterback for the 2022-23 NFL season.
  • [February 24] The Titans have opened as the odds-on favorites to win the AFC South in the 2022-23 NFL season. The Colts aren’t too far behind at +140 odds, as uncertainty at quarterback is potentially having a positive impact on their odds vs the team relying on Carson Wentz. The Jaguars and Texans find themselves listed at +1100 and +2200 odds, respectively.

  • [December 18] The Chiefs officially clinched the AFC West title after a Week 15 win over the Texans.
  • [September 18] The Chiefs win over the Chargers on TNF of Week 2, paired with another terrible Broncos performance and a Raiders loss, has resulted in Kansas City becoming odds-on favorites to win the AFC West for the first time since March.
  • [September 7] The Chargers continue to see their divisional odds improve ahead of kickoff, as they have improved from +250 to +220, closing the gap between them and Kansas City while breaking away from the Broncos.
  • [March 23] While everyone else in the division seems to be adding serious star power to their roster, the Chiefs have lost their top receiver Tyreek Hill. Kansas City has traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a package of five draft picks, one of them being Miami’s first-round pick in 2022. The Chiefs’ divisional odds continue to worsen as a result, going from +130 to +155. Everyone else in the division sees slight improvement to their odds to win the AFC West.
  • [March 18] Though the Raiders still have the worst odds to win the AFC West after acquiring Davante Adams, they did improve from +1100 to +700. Kansas City’s odds faded a little more as a result, now landing at +130.
  • [March 13] The Chiefs are still favored to win the AFC West, but are no longer the odds-on favorites after the Chargers made a big splash of their own, acquiring Khalil Mack from the Bears. Kansas City’s odds to win the division are just +100 now, while LA’s only improved from +425 to +400.
  • [March 9] The Chiefs have gone from -175 favorites to win the AFC West to -110 favorites after the Broncos acquired Russell Wilson in a blockbuster trade with the Seahawks. Denver’s divisional odds improved from +430 to +240, the second-best odds to win the division.
  • [February 24] The opening odds to win the AFC West list the Kansas City Chiefs as -175 favorites. The Chargers come in second at +400 odds, with the Broncos just behind them at +450. Denver’s potential to land Aaron Rodgers is the reason we aren’t seeing their divisional odds open longer.

  • [March 9] Thanks to Aaron Rodgers announcing he will be returning to the Packers for the 2022-23 NFL season, Green Bay’s divisional odds improved from -145 to -200. Minnesota’s NFC North odds fell from +240 to +340 with Rodgers staying put.
