Cincinnati Bengals Week 13 Notes

Key injuries: TBD

Team News: Joe Burrow is back, returning to a Bengals team that will need to win out to have any hope of making the postseason. The Bengals enter Thanksgiving at 4-7 against the spread. They covered in Week 12 against the Patriots, their first cover since Oct. 16. They’ve played just one Thanksgiving Day game, losing in 2010, but are 8-7 all-time on TNF. Their road record on Thursday nights is abysmal, though, at 1-5, having lost their last four.

Baltimore Ravens Week 13 Notes

Key injuries: TBD

Team News: The Ravens have put themselves right back in the mix for the AFC North, and will look to improve to 3-0 all-time on Thanksgiving. They are also 10-4 on TNF, with a 7-0 record at home in the showcase game. This season, the Ravens are just 4-7 against the spread, although they are 3-2 ATS during their current five-game win streak.

What is Thursday Night Football?

Thursday Night Football is the standalone primetime game that is played each Thursday during the NFL season, from Week 2 through Week 17.

There is a Thursday game played in Week 1, but that’s the season opener and not technically part of TNF, which is a contracted game televised by Amazon Prime Video each week. The first game is sometimes branded as Sunday Night Football on Thursday, because it’s aired on NBC. Yeah.

While Thursday games have been played in the NFL for nearly a century, TNF became an official part of the NFL schedule in 2006, with the Chiefs and Broncos playing in the first game.

When Does TNF Start?

For the purpose of television contracts, Thursday Night Football starts in Week 2. For NFL fans and bettors, however, it starts in Week 1 as the first game of the season is played on a Thursday night.

Weekly, TNF games kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Where Can I Watch Thursday Night Football?

Amazon Prime Video has exclusive streaming rights to TNF in the US.

Do All Teams Play on TNF?

No, not every team in the NFL plays a Thursday night game each year.

In 2025, the Browns, Colts, Jaguars, Titans, Saints, and Panthers do not play on Thursday Night Football.

Do TNF Games Count for Fantasy Football?

Yes, Thursday Night Football games are included in your weekly fantasy scoring. The introduction of weekly TNF games added a layer of strategy for fantasy football players, as decisions have to be made well before the full extent of injuries or availability is known for Sunday games.

Thursday Night Football Betting Tips

TNF games do provide some quirks, so here’s what to look out for before playing for Thursday Night Football wagers.

Closely Monitor Injuries

TNF games are known to be without players who would have otherwise seen the field, as the short turnaround makes for less recovery time.

Little nicks can be a bigger problem on Thursday Night Football, so if a player shows up on the injury report early in the week, either bet accordingly to possibly take advantage, or wait until as close to kickoff as possible.

Keep an eye on NFL public betting trends throughout the week to see how other bettors are reacting to potential injuries.

Homefield More of an Advantage?

Night games typically provide a more raucous environment, as they are more of an event. Home teams were 10-6 on Thursday Night Football in 2024.

That’s a .625 win percentage, which is well ahead of the .524 win percentage for home teams in all NFL games last season.

Low Scoring Games Are No Longer the Norm

For a while, TNF games were considered clunkers as shorter rest and preparation led to low-scoring, sloppy games. This made betting Thursday Night Football over/unders pretty simple.

Not anymore. In 2024, 10 of the 16 games went over 40 points, while six were at 50 or above. Yes, the Seahawks and Bears played a 6-3 game in the final week of TNF last season, but that’s becoming more and more rare.
