Notes on the EPL Golden Boot odds movement over the course of the season:
- [May 17] It may not have been as big as last year’s tally, but with 27 goals Erling Haaland has captured his second-consecutive Premier League Golden Boot.
- [Apr 12] Cole Palmer’s dramatic hat trick against Manchester United has shot the Chelsea midfielder up the Top Goalscorers table. He had no odds to speak of back in December, but is now averaging +950 to win the Golden Boot.
- [Mar 20] Haaland’s odds had taken a dip due to recent injuries, but he’s back to -450 despite only having a two-goal lead over Ollie Watkins (+750).
- [Feb 14] With two more goals this past weekend, Haaland has put the injury worries behind him and is back to -400 for the Golden Boot.
- [Dec 19] The best value bet right now could be West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen who’s tied for the third-most goals with ten goals but still has long odds of +6500.
- [Oct 31] With 11 goals and a three-goal lead over Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland is a commanding -400 favorite for the Golden Boot. However, Salah’s odds have been slashed from +12oo to +600 in recent weeks
- [Jul 27] Erling Haaland starts at odds-on to repeat as EPL scoring champion this season at -150 odds
The 36 goals scored by Haaland last year broke the EPL’s single-season scoring record of 34 goals which was jointly held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, and both doing so when the season was 42 games long, as opposed to the current 38-game season.

To win the Golden Boot, low 20s, had been what it took to win the award in recent seasons. Haaland blew that number out of the water though in the 2022/23 season scoring an incredible 36 goals.
The next closest challengers to Haaland last season in the scoring race were Harry Kane of Spurs with 30 goals and Ivan Toney of Brentford with 20.
