The 2024 Australian Open took place at Melbourne Park from January 15-28, 2024. We tracked the odds for all of the top contenders since they became available and charted them on this page. The graphs below were generated by calculating the average odds from a selection of sportsbooks.
Men’s Singles Top Contenders
- [Jan 26] For the first time in years there will be a new first-time Aussie Open winner. Djokovic, who has won the title in 10/16 years and was the favorite this year to win again, was knocked out by Sinner 6-1, 6-2, 6-7(8-6), 6-3. In the past 18 Aussie Opens, only four players had won the title. 17 of those times came from the Big Three, while Stan Wawrinka won once in 2014. Sinner is now the -285 favorite over Medvedev who defeated Zverev 5-7, 3-6, 7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-5), 6-3 to come back from two sets down in his semi.
- [Jan 23] Two of the top three favorites are advancing to the semi-finals so far with Sinner winning in straight sets over Rublev and Djokovic topping Fritz in four sets. Hurkacz is the biggest longshot left on the board entering the quarterfinals
- [Jan 15] Jannik Sinner got off the a straight-forward straight sets win in the first round and is the third favorite on the men’s side at +650 odds, behind Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz was also a 3-0 winner in the first round, however, Djokovic surprisingly dropped a set to Dino Prizmic and won 3-1.
- [Nov 20] Current ATP Final champion Djokovic is leading the pack to win the Aussie Open at +120 odds. ATP Final finalist Sinner comes in as the fourth-favorite at +1000. Semifinalists Alcaraz and Medvedev are also among the top four
- [Jul 19] The Wimbledon finalists are both the leading favorites to win the Aussie Open in 2024 with Djokovic at +125 and Alcaraz at +225
- [Feb 15] Novak Djokovic opened as the +121 2024 Aussie Open favorite

Women’s Singles Top Contenders
Aryna Sabalenka won in 2023 defeating Elena Rybakina 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 to win her first Aussie Open title. She’s been the second favorite for much of 2023 to defend that title in 2024. But is now favored entering the quarterfinals with Swiatek being eliminated in the third round
- [Jan 26] Thursday’s semifinals saw Zheng defeat Yastremka 6-4, 6-4 and Sabalenka defeating Gauff 7-6(7-2), 6-4. Sabalenka is a resounding -550 favorite to win back-to-back titles down under on Saturday
- [Jan 23] The third round on the women’s side saw a shock upset with unseeded teenager Linda Noskova upsetting tournament favorite Iga Swiatek 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. That leaves Aryna Sabalenka as the new top favorite entering the quarterfinals at +120 odds. Noskova is now the fourth favorite after also getting a walkover win over Elina Svitolina in the fourth round. Noskova was as long as +7500 odds on January 19 and was +13000 earlier in the tournament
- [Jan 16] Top favorites Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina all cruised in the first round with 2-0 first round victories. One of the bigger upsets saw 7th-ranked Marketa Vondrousova fall 6-1 6-2 to 93rd-ranked Dayana Yastremska
- [Nov 20] Iga Swiatek cruised in his WTA Final over Jessica Pegula winning 6-1 6-0. She’s the clear favorite in the Australian Open odds at +260 ahead of Aryna Sabalenka at +450. Pegula comes in as the current fifth-favorite at odds of +1200. Semifinalist Coco Gauff is priced in the top four as well at +1000.
- [Jul 19] It’s Iga Swiatek favored to win in 2024 at aversge odds of +265. She opened at +237 earlier this year
- [Feb 15] Sabalenka opened at +488 odds to defend her AO title in 2024
