Scherzer has a 10-9 lifetime record against the Braves and a 3.89 ERA in 28 games (26 starts). At Truist Park, he is 3-3 with a 3.76 ERA.

In five road starts this season, Scherzer has gone 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA. He is 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA in six nighttime starts.

Since losing his first two starts of the season, Fried is 9-0 with a 2.15 ERA in his past 15 rotation turns.

Fried has a 5-2 record and 2.66 ERA at Truist Park this season in 11 starts. He is 8-1 with a 2.40 ERA in 14 starts at night.

Batting Average vs Starting Pitchers

The Mets’ Starling Marte is 4 for 11 (.364) with two doubles off Fried. However, Francisco Lindor is only 1 for 12, though the hit is a home run.

Scherzer has had a hard time with the Braves’ Ronald Acuna Jr., who is hitting .350 (7 for 20) against the three-time Cy Young Award winner with one double, one triple and two homers. Travis d’Arnaud is just 5 for 28 (.179) with one double, one triples and two longballs.

Luis Guillorme had three hits for New York.

The Mets will be without second baseman Jeff McNeil, who will be placed on the paternity list Monday.

Catcher James McCann was put on the injured list before Sunday’s game with a left oblique strain. Right fielder Starling Marte was also out of the lineup with left groin tightness and is doubtful for Monday night.

Austin Riley tied the game for the Braves in their victory over the Nationals on Sunday with a home run in the eighth inning then won it with an RBI single in the 12^th. He is batting .489 in his last 10 games.

Riley had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Braves’ 12-hit attack. Dansby Swanson also had three hits and William Contreras added two.

The teams will be meeting for their second series of the season after splitting four games in May in New York. Marte went 6 for 13 (.462) with a double for the Mets While the Braves’ Matt Olson was just 3 for 13 (.231), he hit two doubles and a home run while drawing four walks.

The Braves are 43-28 against the Mets since the start of the 2018 season.
