Week 10 features the first “game of the year” on the college slate when No. 3 Georgia (8-0, 5-0) plays host to No. 1 Tennessee (8-0, 4-0) for first place in the SEC East and an almost certain berth in the CFP Final Four. Tennessee is 5-0 against teams in the AP top 25. Georgia has beaten the one Top 25 team it has faced.
No. 6 Alabama (7-1, 4-1) and No. 10 LSU (6-2, 4-1) play for at least a share of the SEC West lead in Baton Rouge, and the winner will get a leg up on a spot the West’s spot in the SEC title game. ACC leader No. 4Clemson (8-0, 6-0), coming off a bye, is one of six remaining FBS unbeatens.
Here are CFB betting odds and three ATS picks to consider for Week 10.
Tennessee vs Georgia Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Tennessee Volunteers | +8.5 (-112) | +235 | Over 66 (-109) |
Georgia Bulldogs | -8.5 (-109) | -335 | Under 66 (-112) |
Odds from Barstool Sportsbook on Nov. 2.
ATS Pick #1: Tennessee (+8.5) vs Georgia
This game is all about the Tennessee offense fronted by quarterback Hendon Hooker versus the Georgia defense — one of the most efficient quarterbacks in Division I against one of the elite defenses.

Hooker has overtaken Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud as the favorite in the Heisman Trophy odds because of his remarkable play during the Volunteers’ 8-0 start, which includes a 52-49 victory over Alabama and blowouts of LSU and Kentucky, the latter 44-6 the last time out. If Hooker does to the Bulldogs what he did to Alabama (441 passing/rushing yards, five TDs), the Heisman is his.
Hooker has completed 71 percent of his passes for 2,338 yards, 21 touchdowns and one interception while also rushing for 338 yards and four scores. Wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has been his go-to, with 907 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Volunteers lead Division I in total offense (553 yards per game) and scoring offense (49.4 points per). They also have 16 takeaways and an opportunistic plus-eight turnover margin, among the top 15.

Georgia backs up its No. 4-rated defense (263 yards per) with Division I’s No. 2 offense and remains a strong CFP Final Four candidate in the college football playoff odds. Quarterback Stetson Bennett, the MVP in the Bulldogs’ national championship win over Alabama last year, has thrown for 2,934 yards and nine touchdowns in a more balanced attack that is averaging 530 yards per game. Halfbacks Daijun Edwards and Kenny McIntosh have combined for 13 rushing touchdowns and top target tight end Brett Bowers is one of eight players with least 10 receptions.

The Bulldogs have owned this game recently, going 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS while scoring at least 38 points in each of the last five. Both teams will score, but this will be a one-possession game.

UNLV vs San Diego State Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
UNLV Rebels | +6 (-110) | +180 | Over 48.5 (-110) |
San Diego State Aztecs | -6 (-110) | -225 | Under 48.5 (-110) |
Odds from Barstool Sportsbook on Nov. 2.
ATS Pick #2: San Diego State (-6) vs UNLV
One of the unlikeliest stories in college football is playing out far from the spotlight, where safety-turned-quarterback Jalen Mayden has almost single-handedly turned San Diego State’s season around.

Mayden started the season at safety but volunteered to move to offense after the Aztecs went through four other quarterbacks. It has worked. Maybe them to victories in his first two starts against Hawaii and Nevada, and the Aztecs (4-4, 2-2) would have made it three in a row at Fresno State had they been able to cover an onside kick with 63 seconds remaining last week. The Bulldogs recovered and scored for a 32-28 win.
Mayden, listed at 6’3, 230-pounds, completed 19 of 24 passes against Fresno for 291 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, the second one in the final seconds. He also rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns. As deflating as that loss could be, the Aztecs will meet an UNLV team that has given up at least 40 points in its last three games. The Rebels did not play last week after a 44-21 loss to Notre Dame in which they trailed 34-7 at half.

UNLV (4-4, 2-2) starting quarterback Doug Brumfield is expected to return after suffering a concussion early in a 40-7 loss to San Jose State on Oct. 7, but leading rushing Aidan Robbins remains questionable because of a knee injury
San Diego State is 9-1 SU, 7-3 ATS in its last 10 against UNLV.
- Pick: San Diego State -6 (-110), 3 units
Houston vs SMU Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Houston Cougars | +3.5 (-120) | +128 | Over 66.5 (-112) |
SMU Mustangs | -3.5 (-102) | -154 | Under 66.5 (-108) |
Odds from FanDuel Sportsbook on Nov. 2.
ATS Pick #3: Houston (+3.5) vs SMU
The public bet SMU up from a 1.5-point favorite to the current line on news that starting quarterback Tanner Mordecai is expected to play. Mordecai suffered a concussion in the third quarter of a 29-27 loss to Cincinnati and did not play in the 45-34 win at Tulsa the last time out.
A historic day for Clayton Tune.

— The American (@American_Conf) October 30, 2022
While Mordecai’s healthy is paramount for the Ponies, he may not be the best quarterback on field. Houston’s Clayton Tune has trimmed his interceptions from 10 each of the last two seasons to four, and is on track for a career year as the Cougars look to make a move in the AAC conference title odds. Tune passed for 412 yards and four touchdowns in the Cougars’ 44-37 win-and-cover home victory over the Ponies a year ago, and he enters after his best game this season — 31 of 37 passing for 380 yards and four scores in a 42-27 home victory against South Florida, which scored a tack-on touchdown with 65 seconds left.
Mordecai and wideout Rashee Rice (62 catches, 982 yards) have a good thing going, but Mordecai is having a (relatively) down year after the departure of coach Sonny Dykes. Mordecai has completed 61 percent of his throws for 16 touchdowns and seven picks.
Rashee Rice remain the most slept on WR in the 2023 #NFLDraft.

Houston is 4-1 ATS in its last five on the road and 10-2 SU in its last 12 on the road. SMU is 1-4 ATS in its last five at home. Houston (5-3, 2-1 AAC) still has a shot at the league title because it misses both Cincinnati and UCF, while SMU (4-4, 2-2) would need a lot of help.
