Wednesday night, two Western Conference foes going in entirely different directions square off, with the high-flying Dallas Stars taking on the hapless San Jose Sharks. Dallas has 59 points (26-12-7), which is good for first in the conference, while their counterparts are 13-23-9, which is fourth worst in the West.
The Stars have won three of the last four meetings. They do come in somewhat in a fickle stretch, as they’ve dropped four of seven. San Jose has been struggling mightily, having won just three of their last 14 affairs.

Dallas Stars Betting Analysis
It’s not as if the Stars are nosediving, but they haven’t been as strong of late, going 3-3-1 in their last seven. Prior to that, Dallas was 9-2-1 in a twelve-game stretch. They’re being paced by Jason Robertson, who is fifth in league scoring (60 points). None of his teammates have more than 44 points (Joe Pavelski, Roope Hintz).
This season, Dallas is seventh in scoring and second in goals against under Peter Deboer, which is a marked improvement over being 21st and 14th in those categories a season ago with Rick Bowness at the helm. They’re also fourth on the PP and fifth on the PK, showcasing brilliant special teams.

In their previous outing, the Stars handed Vegas their first shutout of the campaign, with Jake Oettinger collecting his third blanking this season.
San Jose Sharks Betting Analysis
There’s no other way to spin it, the San Jose Sharks are having a miserable season, as they have the dubious distinction of being the fifth-worst team in hockey. They are the worst home squad also, with a paltry 4-12-7 record at the Sap Center. The over is 8-0-1 in the Sharks’ last nine games at home as an underdog.
It would stand to reason that goal scoring and prevention would be problems given their record. San Jose is 23rd in scoring and fourth worst in goals allowed. Here’s where things get pretty strange though – they’re somehow third on the penalty kill.

Stars vs Sharks Pick
Obviously Dallas has been the far better squad this season. In addition to that, however, they’ve been the better team in this series of late. Furthermore, San Jose is 1-5 in their last six as a home underdog of +110 to +150.
Stars vs Sharks Same-Game Parlay Picks
Pick | Odds |
---|---|
Dallas Stars Puckline | +150 |
Over 6.5 Goals | +110 |
PARLAY ODDS | Â +390 |
Dallas is 10-1 in their last eleven attempts as a road favorite between -151 and -200. The over is 6-0-1 in their last seven in that same scenario. In four of San Jose’s last six losses on home ice, they’ve lost by two or more. It’s always a bit risky selecting a squad to win by two or more, but Dallas is more than capable.
Pick: Dallas Stars Puckline (+150), Over 6.5 Goals (+110)
