  • Week 6 of the College Football season continues Saturday
  • Arizona’s Ismail Mahdi is averaging 7.0 yards per carry
  • See below for my favorite College Football player props and best bets for Week 6

The college football season rolls on Saturday, with games kicking off from Noon ET to 10:30 pm. That presents a laundry list of opportunities to cash in on betting college football player props, and I’ve combed over the oddsboard to bring you my three favorite best bets to target.

College Football Week 6 Player Props – Best Bets (Oct. 4)

PropOdds (Sportsbook)
Ismail Mahdi (ARI) Over 92.5 Rushing Yards-115 (at Bet365)
Diego Pavia (VAN) Over 203.5 Passing Yards-114 (at FanDuel)
Maddux Madsen (BSU) Over 215.5 Passing Yards-114 (at FanDuel)

I’m starting my college football player prop best bets with over 92.5 rushing yards for Arizona’s Ismail Mahi. The senior back has dominated the Wildcats backfield usage recently, and has a pristine matchup versus a dreadful Oklahoma State run defense.

I’m also targeting the over on Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia and Boise State’s Maddux Madsen’s passing yards prop, as both should be forced to throw early and often as big underdogs.

Week 6 College Football Player Prop: Ismail Mahdi Rushing Yards

Arizona typically wants to lean pass-heavy, but as 21-point favorites, I’m counting on them relying more on their ground attack to build a margin and put the game away.

Enter Mahdi, who’s averaging 7.0 yards per carry. He’s handled 72% and 73% of the Wildcat backfield touches over the last two games, outgaining fellow Arizona RB Quincy Craig 274 yards to 17.

As for the matchup, the Cowboys defense is in shambles. Oklahoma State ranks in the bottom-10 in rushing yards allowed, surrendering 214 yards per game. Enemy backs are averaging 6.2 yards per carry, and have ripped off at least one 39+ yard run in three consecutive contests.

  • Best Bet #1: Ismail Mahdi Over 92.5 Rushing Yards (-115 at Bet365)

Week 6 College Football Player Prop: Diego Pavia Passing Yards

Through five weeks, Pavia is building a Heisman Trophy odds-style resume. The Vandy QB has already thrown for 1,211 yards and 13 TD, posting the nation’s third-best QBR at 88.4.

Pavia begins the week among the top-10 college QB’s in yards per attempt, adjusted completion percentage and big-time throw rate. He’s eclipsed 203.5 passing yards in three of the Commodores five games, with the lone exceptions coming in blowout victories.

Vandy is a 10.5-point underdog versus Alabama, so passing volume projection is higher than usual with the Commodores likely playing from behind. Yes, the Crimson Tide is a National Champion odds contender, but Pavia has already proved himself in this spot before.

Last year, he led Vanderbilt to an outright win over then #1 ranked Bama, throwing for 252 yards and 2 TD in the process.

  • Best Bet #2: Diego Pavia Over 203.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)

Week 6 College Football Player Prop: Maddux Madsen Passing Yards

Sticking with our quarterback theme, it’s time to acknowledge that the Boise State rushing attack is lacklustre now that Ashton Jeanty is gone. The Broncos are averaging substantially fewer yards on the ground this year compared to last season, putting more of the offensive burden on Madsen’s shoulders.

So far, the junior has responded with four straight games of 225+ passing yards. He ranks 24th in expected points added per pass, and is fresh off a 321-yard performance last time out, marking the second time in three starts he’s cleared the 300-yard marker.

Madsen’s Broncos are 20.5-point underdogs to Notre Dame on Saturday, and game script plus the Irish’s defense suggests a ton of pass volume. Notre Dame is coughing up 268 passing yards per outing and 7.7 yards per throw, but is limiting opponent rushing attacks to only 3.8 yards per carry.

  • Best Bet #3: Maddux Madsen Over 215.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
