The Seattle Mariners are the only team that’s never made the World Series. With another win this afternoon, they can move one step closer to accomplishing that goal. Seattle takes a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 of the ALDS, but are a short moneyline underdog versus the Tigers in the MLB odds.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:08 pm ET from Comerica Park, in Detroit, Michigan, with FS1 providing the coverage and sunny, 63-degree game-time temperatures on deck.

Mariners vs Tigers Game 4 Picks and Predictions

I’m betting on the M’s in my Mariners vs Tigers Game 4 picks, as they are by far the more complete team. Take last night’s Game 3 for example. Seattle went deep three times en route to an 8-4 victory, and was 4-for-9 with runners in scoring position. MLB home run King Cal Raleigh hit his first dinger of the postseason, as did deadline acquisition Eugenio Suarez, and number nine hitter J.P. Crawford.

The Mariners contributions from up and down the lineup produced more than enough runs for starter Logan Gilbert. The 28-year-old scattered 4 hits and struck out 7 over 6 innings, while closer Andres Munoz slammed the door on a Detroit 9th inning rally.

The Tigers meanwhile, struggled again at the dish. Prior to a three-run 9th inning, they managed only 4 hits, and are now batting a dismal .165 in the ALDS. That’s the worst average of any of the eight playoff teams remaining, while Detroit’s 30.4% strikeout rate and 0.68 ISO mark rank at or near the bottom as well.

The Tigers miserable offense is a carry over from their September collapse, when they posted a 7-17 record. Detroit’s pitching yielded over 5 runs per game during that stretch, and now their season rests in the hands of Casey Mize.

Bryce Miller vs Casey Mize 2025 Stats

The 28-year-old’s production fell off a cliff in the second half, as he posted ERA’s of 6.32, 5.81 and 3.49 in the months of July, August and September. He started Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Round against the Guardians, and lasted only 3 innings.

Mize will have his hands full with this loaded Seattle lineup that roughed him up the last time they met. He coughed up 6 hits and 6 runs in just 3 innings of work, taking the loss in a 15-7 defeat.

The Mariners meanwhile, who boast the second-shortest World Series odds, will turn to Bryce Miller. The 27-year-old is the weakest of the four starting pitchers Seattle has trotted out so far, but has had a reasonable amount of success versus Detroit in the past.

Miller has held the Tigers bats to a .231 average and just two extra-base hits over 52 at-bats. Detroit’s best hitters have been non-factors in the ALDS so far, with Gleyber Torres, Spencer Torkelson, Javier Baez and Kerry Carpenter combining for more strikeouts (12) than hits (10).

With the Seattle bats humming and the Detroit offense and pitching in a prolonged slump, the M’s moneyline line is a no brainer bet for me. The fact we can get them at just -104 odds is the icing on the cake.

Mariners vs Tigers Props

Shifting gears to the Mariners vs Tigers props market, where I’m betting over 1.5 hits, runs and RBI for Seattle’s Randy Arozarena. As the M’s leadoff man, no Seattle hitter projects for more at-bats, and he’s posted some great results versus Mize in the past. Arozarena is career .333 hitter against the Detroit righty, and cleared this prop line last night, and in four of his final five starts of the regular season.

If you’re looking to wager on the M’s like me, make sure to visit FanDuel for the best price. Seattle’s moneyline is listed at -104 there, while they’re laying 1.5 on the run line at +162 odds.

Total wise, the over/under currently sits at 8.5. Games 1 and 2 went under in Seattle, before Game 3 flew over last night. Dating back to the regular season, the over is 5-4 in Mariners-Tigers games, but 4-0 in Detroit.
