The 2019-20 NCAA basketball season came to an abrupt end as a majority of conference tournaments and the NCAA Tournament was cancelled due to the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. We tracked the odds to win Power 5 conferences before the shutdown.

Odds to win each of the high major conferences have been released across the leading sportsbooks, and we will be tracking the odds over time in the graphs below. The page begins with the ACC and moves through each high major conference in alphabetical order.

ACC Title Odds

[November 4] Don’t count out the Tar Heels after their quiet offseason, as their average odds have shortened to +460

[October 28] The Clemson Tigers have seen their average odds slightly shorten into the top half of the conference, to +1900

[October 23] Both Duke and Virginia have seen their odds slightly fade as the season nears, while Louisville’s odds are now +400

[September 12]  Headlined by another superb freshmen class Duke opens as the favorite at +250, while reigning champion Virginia is +280 and North Carolina is +450

Big Ten Title Odds

[November 4] Maryland is sufficiently entrenched as the top contender to Michigan State, now with average odds of +620 on season’s eve

[October 28] Bettors are taking a wait and see approach with Juwan Howard’s Wolverines, as Michigan’s average odds continue fading to now +680

[October 23] The Spartans have become  heavier +150 favorites, while Michigan’s odds have slid back to +600, tied with Maryland

[September 12] Michigan State is the clear favorite opening at +200, as they are also preseason national title favorites at +650

Big 12 Title Odds

[November 4] The rise of Baylor’s preseason hype has seen their average odds now shorten to +410, ahead of Texas Tech, who’s average is +430

[October 28] As Kansas has become a heavier favorite ahead of the season, both Texas and Iowa State have seen significant fades in their average odds, to +1200 and +2000, respectively.

[September 12] – After their record breaking streak of conference titles was finished last year, Kansas opens as the favorite at an average of +280
