Not to worry, here’s everything you need to know.

Recommended Settings

Zoom has a few recommendations for applying your virtual background:

• Have a solid color background behind you, preferably a green screen
• A higher quality camera will work best
• Ensure you have uniform lighting and color
• Don’t wear clothing that’s the same color as your background.

Step-by-Step Guide

The first step in applying a Zoom virtual background is ensuring you have the feature enabled:

• Sign-in to the Zoom web portal
• Click “Settings” in the navigation menu
• Click the “Meeting” tab and ensure the virtual background option is enabled

Once the virtual background setting is enabled, follow these steps to apply a new backdrop:

• Sign-in to the Zoom desktop client
• Click your profile picture, and click “Settings”
• Select “virtual background” (restart your client if the tab is not appearing)
• Check the “I have a green screen” option if you are using one
• Upload one of your images by clicking the “+” symbol
• Click on the image to apply it

That’s all you have to do to apply your virtual sports background on Zoom.
