For the NFL week 16 there are three games that could immediately decide the faith of the NFL playoffs; two of them are division rivalry matchups, and the other puts face to face two teams that don’t like each other that much.

Dallas Cowboys -2.5 vs Washington Redskins +2.5. Game Total: 53.5

After the crushing loss against the Packers last Sunday, the Cowboys have no other way to get to the playoff to win out their last two games.  Their first stop will be against their rivals Redskins, who will be delighted to eliminate them.

“We still control what we feel like we can get done,” Tony Romo said after throwing two picks in the fourth quarter against the Packers. “It just doesn’t feel like it right now because we let it slip away.”

Tony Romo has now thrown the most 4th-quarter interceptions this season when the score is within five points.

The Redskins will try to play well not only to eliminate the Cowboys, but to evaluate QB Kirk Cousins who threw 381 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs against the Falcons.

“You can’t win with turnovers, yet we still had an opportunity to win, and that shows you how hard they fought,” said Redskins coach Mike Shanahan.

Washington is 3-7 SU in its last 10 games when playing Dallas, but the Cowboys are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games when playing on the road against the Redskins.

Prediction: Redskins +2.5.

New Orleans Saints +3 vs Carolina Panthers -3. Game Total: 47

The Saints have looked awful away from home all season, and their last outing against the Rams was probably their worst performance of the year.  New Orleans needs to do better against Carolina this Sunday; the team that wins will become the number one in the NFC South and the second in the NFC.

“We know what we’re playing for; we’re playing for the divisional championship and the two seed, so it doesn’t get any bigger or better than that. It is going to be a challenge for us. Obviously we understand our deficiencies on the road here the last couple of trips. It is great motivation for us to really hammer down this week, find ways to improve and get better,” QB Drew Brees said.

New Orleans is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Carolina.  The Panthers are 6-1 at home; their only loss came against the best team in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks.

Also, keep in mind the total has gone UNDER in 8 of Carolina’s last 10 games when playing at home against New Orleans.

Prediction: Panthers -3.

New England Patriots +2.5 vs Baltimore – 2.5. Game Total: 44.5

Both the Patriots and the Ravens have a real shot of representing the AFC in the Super Bowl, but considering these are not the best version of these two teams, it speaks volumes of the level the AFC has now.

New England is 8-3 SU in its last 11 games when playing Baltimore, but s 1-3-1 ATS in its last 5 games in the series.

Prediction: Ravens -2.5
