Two weeks remain in the KBO season, and the KIA Tigers need to orchestrate a late season push to make the playoffs. KIA is currently two games behind fifth place Doosan, after being swept by the Bears over the weekend.

Fortunately for the Tigers, Tuesday brings a very favorable matchup, as they’ll take on the last place Hanwha Eagles at 5:30 am EST.

 KBO Odds: Tuesday, October 6th

Odds as of  Oct. 5th at FanDuel.

KIA opened up as a sizeable moneyline favorite, but do have a very bettable runline. The Tigers -1.5 is only being juiced at -122, and the Eagles are fresh off three straight losses in which they were outscored 28-6.

Gagnon in a Great Spot vs Hanwha

Runs should be tough to come by again for Hanwha on Tuesday, as they’ll take on KIA’s red-hot Drew Gagnon. The 30-year-old has won his last four decisions, and has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his past six starts.

That stretch includes victories over first place NC, third place Kiwoom and fifth place Doosan. He’s 1-1 in two outings versus the Eagles this season, shutting them out and holding them to just a single hit the last time he faced them.

Hanwha meanwhile, will counter with Warwick Saupold, who’s fresh off his first quality start in over a month. Prior to last week, he’d dropped four straight decisions and had surrendered 26 runs in his previous five outings.

One of those performances was against the Tigers, where he was roughed up for four runs and nine hits in just 5.1 innings. KIA is desperate for a win and a date with Saupold should be the cure for its recent struggles.

Pick: KIA Tigers -1.5 (-122)

Jokisch Keeps the Dinos at Bay

Elsewhere in the KBO, the league’s top pitcher battles first place NC. Kiwoom’s Eric Jokisch is in the midst of another sensational stretch, limiting the opposition to 1 earned run or less in four straight starts.

The left-hander is fresh off 6 innings of one-run ball versus KIA, which followed up an 8 inning, five hit gem against SK. He’s posted a 27-2 strikeout-to-walk rate over his last four outings, and hasn’t surrendered a home run since August 2nd. It’s no wonder the last four Heroes games he’s started have stayed under the total.

NC meanwhile, will give the ball to Young Gyu Kim, who’s on a bit of a heater of his own. The 20-year-old has allowed just one earned run over his past 12 innings, neutralizing the bats of SK and Samsung along the way.

The Kiwoom offense is not one to fear, as the Heroes have crossed the plate three times or less in four of their last five. Most games with Jokisch on the mound and a competent starter on the other side open with totals of 8.5, so grab the extra run and play the under.

Pick: Under 9.5 (-102)
