In Juventus’ last Champions League match, they suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Olympiacos (1-0). Tomorrow, Juventus will have a chance for revenge as they host the Greeks at Juventus Stadium (November 4, at 2:45 p.m. Eastern).
In the head-to-head history, the Italians have won five of the nine previous matches, while Olympiacos has won two (including the most recent, where they were +300 underdogs), and two have ended in a draw. Now on home soil, Juventus is a heavy favorite, sitting at -300 in the moneyline. Olympiacos is +1100 and the draw is +400.
After the last meeting, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said his team made many mistakes and they must play better.
“We made a lot of technical errors. Olympiacos pressured us very well; they were effective in their counterattacks. We improved in the second half. We moved up the field and could have equalised, but we wasted a lot of chances. I’m sad, but we still have three games to go. I take responsibility,” told Allegri to the UEFA website.
On the other side, the Olympiacos goalkeeper, Roberto, said he was “delighted” with the victory against the Bianconeri. However, he also said his team will need to start taking points in away games in order to advance.
“We must start taking points away from home. It won’t be enough getting points just at home. That’s why we have to try and make the most of this result next time in Turin, to try and complicate things for Juventus,” said the keeper.
This is almost a must-win game for Juventus if they want to make it to the next round. Juve are in the third place in the group, below Olympiacos, with only three points (1W, 0D, 2L) and a zero goal differential. The Greeks are tied for first in the group with Atletico Madrid and are sitting sitting on six points (2W, 0D, 1L), but also have a zero in their goal differential.
Bet Juventus to recover at home.
