It’s not a national championship, but there’s a nice chunk of change on the line in the College Basketball Crown.
The first quarterfinal in the 8-team field goes Wednesday, when the Oklahoma Sooners (19-15, 7-11 SEC) meet the Colorado Buffaloes (17-15, 7-11 Big 12). The SEC school is the betting favorite in the college basketball odds.
The winner advances to take on the winner of Baylor or Minnesota in the semifinals.
Tip-off is set for 8pm ET from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.

Oklahoma vs Colorado Odds
For those of you not aware of this tournament, it debuted in 2025, but this second edition features eight teams instead of 16.
The premise is the same though: teams closest to making the NCAA Tournament but failed to qualify are invited, enticed by a $500,000 NIL prize pool for players.
The Sooners are 9.5-point favorites with a point spread that has been expanding as we get closer to tip (more on that below). That pays out at -104 odds. The moneyline offers nearly no value as the Sooners are -430 favorites.
The Buffs are +330 to win outright, while the total checks in at 165.5 points, paying out -110 odds for either side of that total.

Colorado vs Oklahoma Picks
- Pick: Oklahoma -9.5 (-104 at FanDuel)
This tournament seems tailor-made for a team like Oklahoma, as the Sooners’ season started with a disastrous 9-game losing streak in SEC play.
But they righted the ship, winning eight of 10 to get into consideration, but fizzled out in the year end conference tourney, essentially ending their bid. The CBC gives them something more to play for.
This squad ripped off wins in seven of its last 10, scoring at least 80 points in every win, and they averaged 82.7 on the season, while allowing 77.1 points against.
Colorado vs Oklahoma Stats
Colorado might have been a formidable opponent in a previous iteration, but the Big 12 representative is going to be hard pressed to be the same squad that averaged 80 points per game during the regular season.
You can thank the transfer portal, which has taken three of the Buff’s four leading scorers from this season.
The list includes guard Isaiah Johnson, who led the team in scoring at 16.9 points per game, forward Sebastian Rancik (12.3 ppg) and forward Bangot Dak, who chipped in with 11.5 points per contest.
That’s 40.7 of Colorado’s 80 points per game this season bot suiting up. The books have taken notice, as the betting line started at 5.5 points but has ballooned to 9.5 points as of late Tuesday night.
This is a team that will struggle to put up points, and won’t be able to overshadow or outscore its defensive deficiencies. The Buffaloes were 14th in the Big Ten in points allowed, at 79.4 points per game.
The Sooners ended their season covering the spread in seven straight games, and the beat should go on Wednesday.
