Stanford Betting Outlook
Stanford returns eight of its top nine rotation players from last season but got a huge boost from a newcomer in its opener.
Senior guard Michael Jones poured in a career-high 31 points in his first game after transferring from Davidson. Jones is the first graduate student transfer in Stanford history and the first transfer of any kind to the Cardinal program in 12 years.
Jones connected on 9 of 15 shots from the field and was 10 of 12 from the free throw line. He also had five rebounds and three assists. Jones’ top scoring effort at Davidson was 29 points.

Sophomore forward Maxime Raynaud had a big game off the bench. He scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in just 21 minutes.
Junior forward Brandon Angel was the third Stanford scorer in double figures with 10 points. After winning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season, forward Harrison Ingram dished six assists.
Stanford shot 60.4% (29 of 48).
The Cardinal played without senior forward Spencer Jones, who had a lower-body injury. Jones, who is questionable for Friday, led the team in scoring with a 12.0 average in 2021-22.
Wisconsin Betting Outlook
Wisconsin’s three returning starters led the way on opening night as they combined for 45 points.
Senior forward Tyler Wahl led the way with a double-double as he recorded 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also dished four assists.

Guard Chuckie Hepburn finished with 14 points a year after becoming the first true freshman to start for the Badgers since Devin Harris in 2001. Hepburn was injured last season when Wisconsin lost to Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Junior forward Steven Crowl added 12 points as Wisconsin shot 50.9% (28 of 55) overall and 46.2% (12 of 26) on three-pointers. The long-range shooting was an encouraging sign after Badgers hit on just 30.6% on their threes last season.
Junior forward Max Klesmit scored 11 points in his Badgers’ debut. The Neenah, Wisc., native transferred to his home state after two seasons at Wofford.
Wisconsin held South Dakota to 2 of 15 (13.3%) from three-point range. The Coyotes had 10 turnovers and just seven assists against the Badgers’ disruptive offense.
Stanford vs Wisconsin Prediction
The teams last played during the 2018-19 season with Wisconsin winning 62-46 at the Battle 4 Atlantic at Paradise Island, Bahamas. It’s hard to tell how this game will play out in such a unique setting but Stanford seems like the right side as a veteran team getting points.
