It’s an all Big 12 matchup Friday night, when the BYU Cougars try to start 5-0 this season as they host the West Virginia Mountaineers — a team looking for its first win in conference play in its third start.

That’s one of five games on the NCAA slate. We’ve looked at the player props available, and below are our best available bets and the ones we like most.

Friday College Football Prop #1: Bear Bachmeier TD Passes

BYU pivot Bear Bachmeier is coming off one of his best games of the season, completing over 70% of his passes and throwing for two touchdowns, as the Cougars held off the Colorado Buffaloes 24-21.

That’s the second time this season that the freshman has crossed his 1.5 TD passing line set for Friday, opening the season with three scoring strikes in a demolition of Portland State.

BYU’s pass attack is 15th in the Big 12, averaging just 184.5 pass yards per contest, but they will be taking on a West Virginia side that has allowed the third-most passing yards in the conference.

They’ve also allowed 10 TD passes, the only school in the Big 12 that has hit double-digit passing touchdowns allowed on the season.

In West Virginia’s last two games, the Utah Utes had four TD passes, and the Kansas Jayhawks had three.

  • Pick: Bachmeier over 1.5 TD passes (-130 at FanDuel)

Friday College Football Prop #2: Chas Nimrod Receiving Yards

I think the books might be asleep at the wheel here. How is it possible that South Florida receiver Chas Nimrod get a generous 68.5-yard receiving line Friday against the Charlotte 49ers?

Nimrod is looking for his third straight 100+ yard receiving game after torching South Carolina State with four grabs for 119 yards and two touchdowns. That, after hauling in four balls for 128 yards against the fifth-ranked Miami Hurricanes.

Charlotte’s pass defense ranks 12th of 14 teams in the American Conference, surrendering 266.8 yards per game. They have allowed five receivers to record at least 70 receiving yards so far this season.

That doesn’t bode well against USF’s passing attack, which sits a healthy fourth in the American churning out 265.5 yards per game.
