UCLA vs Oregon Odds & Pick
UCLA will be looking to stay unbeaten as they face a familiar foe in Oregon at Autzen Stadium.
The Bruins are off to a 6-0 start and have opened as a 5.5-point underdog for their visit to Eugene in the Week 8 college football odds. Chip Kelly’s squad actually had a bye in Week 7 but did beat a very good Utah squad 42-32 last weekend. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was brilliant, throwing for 299 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He completed 18 of 23 passes as well, showing ridiculous efficiency. His Heisman odds improved to +2500 in the process, which is among the top-ten favorites.
Running back Zach Charbonnet meanwhile thrived, averaging nine yards per carry with one score.

Oregon was on a bye week as well but comfortably handled Arizona 49-22 in Week 6. Bo Nix converted 20 of 25 throws for 265 yards and the real damage came from the Ducks’ outstanding run game. Noah Whittington, Nix, Jordan James, and Mar’Keise Irving all destroyed the Wildcats on the ground. Nix had three rushing touchdowns on his own. This offense is one of the best around, sitting 15th in the nation in total yards and ninth in points.

Oregon has won three in a row against UCLA and nine of their last 10. The spread is slim, which makes sense. The previous two meetings were one-possession outcomes. However, the Bruins just beat two ranked opponents, including reigning conference champs Utah. I see value in the visitors flipping the script here and ending their recent woes against the Ducks.
Pick: UCLA +5 (-110)
Texas vs Oklahoma State Odds & Pick
Saturday brings an integral Big 12 matchup between Texas and Oklahoma State, with the Longhorns opening as a 3.5-point road favorite in the Week 8 college football odds. UT is off to a 5-2 start, moving up to 20th in the nation from 22nd in the latest Top 25. The Longhorns came from behind to beat Iowa State on Saturday 24-21, thanks to a couple of clutch plays on both sides of the ball.
Quinn Ewers threw for three TDs including a game-winning three-yard score to Xavier Worthy with less than five minutes to go. Jaylan Ford also forced two turnovers in the final period. Their national championship odds improved to +16500 after the win, third-best in the Big 12 behind TCU and OK State.

Oklahoma State meanwhile just suffered their first loss, 43-40 to TCU in 2OT. Their usually stout defense struggled to contain the Horned Frogs, allowing the second-most points of their season so far. But, the Cowboys have taken down some impressive programs, including Baylor and Texas Tech. The Longhorns will be a stiff test.

Texas RB Bijan Robinson continues to rip apart opposing defenses, rushing for over 100 yards in five consecutive games. Plus, he just did it against the best defense in the Big 12 in Iowa State. I think he’s an X-factor on Saturday. OK State did beat the Longhorns last season, but UT won two in a row prior. They’ve been in several close games but I think Texas covers here.
Pick: Texas -3.5 (-110)
