For any diehard Beyhive members searching for their Queen Bey to show up on the Golden Globes red carpet last weekend, they were sorely disappointed.
Despite being nominated for the Best Original Song trophy and being anticipated to show up for the ceremony, the pre-show component of the evening was Beyoncé-less as the diva skipped the fanfare altogether. Many wondered why she didn’t strut down the carpet and if she was going to show up at all for the ceremony.
Early into the telecast, however, Beyoncé did show up in her pre-assigned seat with hubby Jay-Z also in tow. Rocking a custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress, Mrs. Carter looked her usual million dollar self.
Fans were bummed to miss out on red carpet Beyoncé gold, but early the next morning what to their wondering eyes should appear but fashion editorial style photos of the Queen in her gown. Now, many wonder if Beyoncé will pull the same stunt at the upcoming Oscars.

Beyoncé is a legend because she always changes up the game. She’s never one to repeat tricks, constantly reinventing the game and keeping fans on their toes. This is how she not only made her way to the top but also how she manages to reign on her throne.
When she dropped the chart-shattering self-titled Beyoncé in 2014 overnight accompanied with a music video-loaded ‘visual album’ bundle, she changed the album game forever. The album catalyzed a string of copycat releases, but Queen Bey never repeated the release rollout herself.
Typically a stranger to controversy, the whole Jay-Z elevator debacle of 2014 was a rare gossip-worthy moment that Beyoncé both leaned away from afterward but still managed to turn into album inspiration during the Lemonade era.
But the elevator moment was merely a one-off. Continually, Beyoncé manages to find new and surprising ways to excite her fan base. Just because she skipped out on one red carpet as an opportunity to roll out her own killer photo shoot doesn’t mean it’s her new status quo.

Warm-Up Act
The Golden Globes are often regarded as a watered-down version of the Oscars or merely a warm-up act for the real deal. Trying out a mini publicity stunt makes sense for the Globes but Beyoncé is much more likely to play by the rules on Oscar night.
The Globes are much more fun and playful while the Oscars are considered higher-brow and more regarded in Hollywood circles. Stars can get away with more playful outfits and behaviors during the Golden Globes and tighten their belts a bit with the more stuffy-minded Oscars.
If anything, Beyoncé will up her game for Oscars night and somehow miraculously manage to outdo her Globes outfit with an even more show-stopping look this time around.
With that in mind, Beyoncé will be front and center on the red carpet ready to blow every other celebrity out of the water. After all, it’s her world and we all just live in it.
