  • Oddsmakers have set the over/under at six for total tweets by US President Donald Trump during Super Bowl 53
  • Last year, the total on Trump Super Bowl Sunday tweets was set at five
  • Trump tweeted just once during Super Bowl 52

February 3rd is Super Bowl Sunday, so naturally, the conversation is about tweets. Specifically, the always unpredictable Twitter feed of US President Donald Trump.

The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams will do battle to see who gets to go to the White House for fast food . . . make that who gets to declare NFL supremacy following Super Bowl 53.

Sportsbooks believe the POTUS will have something to say during the big game and has set the total bar at six Trump tweets.

Over 6 -120
Under 6 -120

Trump was uncharacteristically quiet last year on Super Bowl Sunday, tweeting just once the entire day.

Trump Tweets Congrats to Pats

Let’s face it – Trump likes him some Patriots. There’s no questioning the bond he shares with New England owner Robert Kraft, as well as his fondness for Pats quarterback Tom Brady and coach Bill Belichick.

That kinship was on display soon after New Englands’ 37-31 overtime victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game when Trump tweeted out a congratulatory message to the team.

There was no message at all from Trump to the NFC Champion Rams, even though Rams owner Stan Kroenke also donated $1 million to the Trump campaign.

Kraft donated $1 million to Trump’s inauguration in 2017. Brady  has golfed with Trump and was photographed with one of Trump’s red Make America Great Again hats clearly visible on the shelf of his locker.

The Patriots were Trump’s guests at the White House following their Super Bowl 51 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Trump Was Quiet Last Year

Oddsmakers established the Trump tweets bar at five during Super Bowl 52, but he was relatively silent that day, giving his thumbs a rest.

Trump tweeted just once as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Patriots 41-33, offering his congratulations to the victorious Eagles.

Trump Was Move Visible During Super Bowl 51

Perhaps because the game was on his beloved Fox Network, Trump was a significant presence during Super Bowl 51 when the Patriots beat the Falcons. He made an appearance on the Super Bowl pregame show, and was quick to offer the Patriots a glowing tribute after they staged the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history and won the game in OT.

During Super Bowl 50, then Presidential candidate Trump willingly offered his 140-character critique of the game.

That day, the Denver Broncos upset the once-beaten Carolina Panthers 24-10 – perhaps not as big an upset as the one Trump would stage later that year in the US Presidential election.

Historically, Trump is a frugal tweeter on Super Bowl Sunday. Based on that history, the under looks like your best bet.
