Manchester City (-400) vs. Newcastle (+1000) (Draw +475)

This Saturday at Etihand Stadium, Manchester City will host Newcastle needing the full three points in order to continue their chase of Chelsea (12:30 p.m. Eastern).

In the moneyline, the Sky Blues are massive favorites, sitting at -400. Meanwhile, Newcastle are +1000 and the draw +475.

In the handicap, City are favored by a goal.

The Sky Blues hit a rough patch of late, dropping nine of a possible 18 points over a recent six-game stretch. The skid dropped the team from level with Chelsea at the top of the table to seven points off the pace.

It looked like the downturn would continue last time out against Stoke as the teams entered the second half knotted at one. But City exploded for three goals in the second, looking like the dominant team they had been just a short time ago.

“We returned to our normal performance, especially in the second half. We scored three goals in the second half and had more chances,” said manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last three (1-2-0), and they picked up an away point during their last fixture against Crystal Palace (1-1). Caretaker manager John Carver was happy with the point on the road.

“It’s another game unbeaten, that’s one win, three draws, and two defeats now, which is not bad in this league,” said Carver.

In the standings, City are second in the league with 52 points (15-7-3) and a +26 goal difference. Newcastle are 11th with 32 points (8-8-9) and a -6 differential.

This season, Manchester City has won ten games by two or more goals of difference, while Newcastle has lost five times by two or more goals.

There could be good value in City (-1).
