  • Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka have yet to win in 2020
  • Sportsbooks have posted odds on how many tournaments they’ll win this year
  • What’s the best bet on how many victories they’ll accumulate?

Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka both came up large last year, each posting two PGA Tour titles, including the first two majors of the year with El Tigre capturing the Masters and Koepka winning his second consecutive PGA Championship.

While neither have won in the early going of 2020, they’re both clearly favored to emerge victorious on the tour this season – but how many trophies will they add to their career totals?

Four or more +2200

What to Expect From Tiger Woods

It’s hard to know what to expect from Tiger Woods on a tournament-to-tournament basis, particularly because he’s very selective with what events he plays, rarely if ever competing for more than two straight weeks in a row. In his two events of 2020, Woods finished T-9th at Torrey Pines and finished last among those who made the cut at the Genesis Invitational.

Given the fact that Tiger has won the 2018 Tour Championship, 2019 Masters and 2019 Zozo Championship in the last 17 months, it would seem unlikely that he goes the entire season without capturing a win. He’s playing a limited schedule, so forecasting four or more wins seems realistically a bit too tall a task, though if anyone could do it, it certainly would be him.

A comfortable and safe bet would be selecting Tiger to find his game and come out on top at least twice in the year, with +800 odds for three or more very juicy and tempting, but with fewer chances to win, not as likely.

Pick: Two or more wins (+240)

What to Expect From Brooks Koepka

It hasn’t been totally out of character for Brooks Koepka to start his campaign slowly, as he usually works his way up to the majors, where he totally dominates (four major titles in last three years). In his three tourneys, Koepka has finished T-34th, T-17th and T-43rd, hardly anything that will sound alarm bells since that is his usual MO.

What is a little different, however, than in previous years is the fact he’s coming off a serious knee injury that was troublesome enough that he shut it down following a withdrawal at the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges in October. You’re not getting solid odds on any outcome, other than four or more victories from Brooks, but he’s never been a guy (to this point in his career) to rack up a bunch of “regular” tour titles.

You’re getting relatively decent value at him to win three or more tournaments at +350. Based on recent history he’ll be in the mix at all the majors and the bigger world golf championships events. In the last two seasons, he’s picked up two victories in one year and three titles in the next season. Go with the slightly stronger value.

Pick: Three or more wins (+350)
