The Best of the Bunch

The Bears are known for their offense, but lately it’s been defense and pitching that has propelled them to victory. They allowed just six runs over the weekend versus KIA, and the under is 9-3 in their last 12 outings.

Their potent lineup has failed to exceed four runs in seven of their last 10 and two of their previous three games versus the Dinos went under the total.

NC meanwhile, has scored 53 runs in its last five outings (no that’s not a typo), but it needs to be mentioned that all of those games were against the two worst teams in the league.

The total for this contest opened at 12.5 and there’s no other option but to bet the under. One reason for concern however, is Bears starting pitcher Je-yeong Jo. The 19-year-old will be making his first KBO start and didn’t exactly excel in the futures league.

If the over/under for this game was lower, the over would be enticing, but at 12.5 you have to close your eyes and bet under.

Pick: Under 12.5 (-115)

The Eagles’ Woes Get Worse

For the last two and half weeks nothing has been more profitable in the KBO than betting against Hanwha. That trend is likely to continue Tuesday, when the Eagles hit the road to face the Lotte Giants.

Hanwha is in the midst of an ugly 14-game losing streak, and is fresh off losing their manager. The team was outscored 35-6 over the weekend, and haven’t scored more than three runs in a game in over a week.

They’ll turn to ace Warwick Saupold, who was lit up for nine hits and six runs last time out. The 30-year-old has just one win in his last five starts, and was on the mound May 16th versus the Giants in a 5-1 defeat.

Lotte meanwhile, swept KT Wiz over the weekend allowing just six runs in the process. They’ll give the ball to former Texas Rangers hurler Adrian Sampson, who’ll be looking to bounce back after a shaky first two starts. Sampson went 6-8 with the Rangers in 2019, which included a four-hit complete game versus the Oakland Athletics.

Pick: Lotte Giants -1.5 (+105)

Samsung at Plus-Money is a Steal

The Samsung Lions managed to avoid a weekend sweep at SK by winning 3-0 in their finale. Tuesday, they’ll give the ball to Tae In Won, who’s been mowing down KBO lineups recently. The 20-year-old is fresh off 7 scoreless innings versus LG and has allowed just two runs total in his last three outings.

He’ll face a Kiwoom Heroes team that was blown out 8-1 on Sunday and who’s starting pitcher, Young Gun Jo, has just two career starts under his belt.

Samsung took two of three versus Kiwoom earlier this season, and should be much closer to a pick versus the Heroes than +115.

Pick: Samsung Lions moneyline (+115)
