One of the many reasons Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to step down as senior members of the Royal Family was to become financially independent.

Well, the Duchess of Sussex may have already landed her first job with the Walt Disney Corporation.

According to reports, Markle has already inked a voiceover deal to become the next Disney Princess.

Several sportsbooks released odds on whether Markle will voice the next Disney Princess project, with “No” coming in as the overwhelming -600 favorite.

The news Markle would voice the next Disney Princess was first reported by Deadline.com, which also stated the deal was reached prior to the couple’s controversial decision to leave the Royal Family. There’s been a brief history between Disney and the couple as the company created a Winnie-the-Pooh animation to celebrate Meghan and Harry’s first child, Archie.

Duke of Sussex Makes Disney Pitch For Meghan

The building blocks for a possible Disney Princess voiceover dates back to July 2019, when the couple attended the London premiere of the Lion King.

According to People, Harry was seen — and heard — having a conversation with Disney CEO Bob Iger to line up a possible voiceover gig for his wife, who was close by mingling with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

“You know she does voiceovers?” Harry was heard telling Iger in the video that captured the interaction between the two. “She’s really interested.”

“Sure,” Iger responded. “We’d love to try.”

The brief exchange between the Duke of Sussex and Iger has resurfaced and increased speculation that Markle could very well voice the next Disney Princess film.

Does that mean taking the +350 odds Meghan will voice the next Disney Princess film presents better value at this point? The odds state that the project must be a Disney animated feature film released before 2023 in order for wagers to have action.

What’s Next Up for Prince Harry?

While Markle may have her next job lined up, what’s in store for Prince Harry?

Last week, Sportsbooks also released odds on what the Duke’s next job may be, with actor or TV reality star coming in as the +105 favorite. Sharing the next best odds at +275 were Netflix producer as well as writer.

The fact that the couple has decided to spend most of its time in Vancouver, B.C. indicates that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are interested in acting. Vancouver is one of Canada’s most popular cities for movie production.

Now that there is a possibility of Markle voicing the next Disney Princess, the next question will be, which Princess will it be?

Frozen 2 was the last Disney Princess film, which was released in 2019. Prior to that, Beauty and the Beast (2017), Moana (2016), and Cinderella (2015) were among Disney Princess movies released by the company over the last five years.

The Little Mermaid franchise has not had a film since 2008 when Disney released The Little Mermaid III — Ariel’s Beginning. That could very well be among the options for Markle moving forward. However, it could also be a new Princess film based on Markle’s story.
