Twins vs Rays Probable Pitchers

Winder will be making the first start of his MLB career. He’s pitched in three games out of the bullpen so far, with a 3.48 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP across 10.1 innings. He’s struck out five batters.

Fleming meanwhile, made his first start of the year on Tuesday after previously making three appearances out of the bullpen. It did not go well for him though, getting tagged for seven runs in just two innings of work.

However, none of them were actually earned because of Tampa’s three errors. Nonetheless, he will be poised to bounce back in an opening role here, and hopefully, Fleming can give Kevin Cash three or four quality innings. He’s also never faced the Twins, therefore this is brand new territory.

Twins Betting Analysis

Minnesota’s bats came ready to do damage on Saturday, stringing together 14 hits on the day and nine runs, including a four-spot in the top of the ninth. Carlos Correa, who has been struggling, broke out and went 3 for 5 to lead the way, while Kyle Garlick and Max Kepler also notched two hits each. Both of Garlick’s hits were home runs as well. Correa’s AL MVP odds are sitting at a long +6000 and he’ll need to really pick it up in order to make a case moving forward.

This was a much-needed offensive performance for the Twins because they’ve been poor offensively, sitting 22nd in team average, 24th in hits, and 21st in runs. Their rotation has been truly keeping them afloat with a 12-9 record, pitching to a 3.27 ERA.

Rays Betting Outlook

Tampa is playing decent baseball at the moment, going 7-3 in their last 10 games and winning three in a row before Saturday’s loss, taking three out of four from the Mariners. The offense is undoubtedly one of their strong suits, sitting in the top-10 in essentially every major category, but they were completely shut down in Game 2 of this series.

The Rays mustered up a mere four hits against Twins pitching, with former Tampa star Chris Archer tossing four innings of one-run baseball before handing the ball over to the pen. While Cash’s group is unfamiliar with Paddack, they’ll be looking to respond and take the series finale.

Twins vs Rays Prediction

Fleming’s stuff looked good in his last appearance, he simply just didn’t get any help from his defense. Also, I believe the Rays’ bats are going to be a lot better here and come out of the gates firing. Take Tampa on the moneyline.

Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-154)
