After dropping a season-worst 10 games under .500, the Cubbies have settled into a nice groove, with wins in five of their last six games.

The opener of this 3-game set goes Friday (June 16) at 2:20pm ET from Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. You can watch the game live on MLB Network.

Probable Pitchers

The Orioles will send lefty Cole Irvin to the mound Friday afternoon, just his fifth start of the season. He is coming off his first win of the campaign, a 6-1 decision over the KC Royals.

Irvin went 5.1 innings, scattering six hits and surrendering just one earned run. He didn’t walk a batter while striking out five.

He had a short relief appearance against the Blue Jays prior to that start, retiring just one batter in a 6-5 win over Toronto that went 10 innings.

Irvin’s start previous to KC was forgettable, as he was shelled for six earned runs in just four innings of work against the Oakland A’s. He walked two and struck out four, though the O’s did come back and win 8-7.

It was a nice outing after getting lit up last start, giving up six hits and four earned runs across six innings in a 5-0 loss to the Padres.

While they’ve hovered around .500 at Wrigley, the Cubs are a top-10 team as a home ‘dog, going 6-5 in 11 games.

Despite those numbers, lets roll with the birds, who have been a tough out on the road this season.
