Gracie Favored To Defeat Storley in Bellator 274 Odds

Neiman Gracie vs Logan Storley is a great fight and will be a grappling fan’s delight. Gracie comes from the legendary jiu-jitsu family, while Storley is a four-time All-American wrestler. When two grapplers fight, it usually turns into a striking fight as their grappling cancels each other out, but both Gracie and Storley always want to be on the ground, which makes it an intriguing matchup.

Gracie vs Storley Recent Fights

Gracie
VS
Storley
Mark Lemminger, win by TKO Fight 1 Dante Schiro, win by split decision
Jason Jackson, loss by decision Fight 2 Yaroslav Amosov, loss by split decision
Jon Fitch, win by submission Fight 3 EJ Brooks, win by TKO (injury)
Rory MacDonald, loss by decision (title fight) Fight 4 Ion Pascu, win by decision

It’s hard to tell just how good Storley is as he fought Amosov to a split decision, who is the undefeated welterweight champion and has dominated everyone he has fought. It is the closest fight Amosov has been in, but then in his next fight, he fights Schiro to a split decision, who’s someone he should’ve mauled and dominated from start to finish. Gracie, meanwhile, has come up short in his two step-up in competitions when he fought Rory MacDonald and Jason Jackson.

Storley will be the better wrestler but on the ground, Gracie is the better jiu-jitsu fighter. With that, it will all be about the position as whoever has the more dominant position will be able to control the fight, and avoid the ground and pound and submission attempts.

However, I do think this fight will play out on the feet and it being a five-round scrap is also intriguing. Both men have seemed to gas as the fight gets late and if Storley constantly goes for takedowns, which takes a lot of energy he will gas out. Ultimately, to me, this is a pick’em fight as both men have paths to victory on the ground while their striking have improved but it will likely be a close fight and one I think Storley can edge out by using his decision, as Jon Fitch had success until he caught with a submission which I don’t think Storley will get caught by.

The Bellator 274 odds are too wide on this fight so take Storley at +148 to pull off the upset and win a razor-close decision.

Pick: Logan Storley (+148) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Koreshkov vs Rencountre Pick & Prediction

Former welterweight champ, Andrey Koreshkov is back in Bellator and looking to make it two in a row as he faces UFC veteran, Chance Rencountre who is making his promotional debut on short notice.

Koreshkov vs Rencountre Recent Fights

Koreshkov
VS
Missing Team
Sabah Homasi, win by decision Fight 1 Jake Lindsey, win by submission
Adriano Rodrigues, win by submission Fight 2 Cliff Wright, win by submission
Lorenz Larkin, loss by split decision Fight 3 Lyman Good, loss by TKO
Mike Jasper, win by decision Fight 4 Ismail Naurdiev, win by decision

Rencountre was a surprise UFC release as he went 2-2 in the promotion, but they decided not to re-sign him and now gets a shot in Bellator but has a tough test in front of him. The way Rencountre wins the fight is by taking Koreshkov down and holding him there and looking for a submission.

However, I expect Koreshkov to be able to keep the fight standing and in the second or third round, eventually get the TKO win after all the damage he did, similar to Lyman Good’s victory over Rencountre. This is better priced at DraftKings Sportsbook if you’re looking to bet on Koreshkov in the Bellator odds.

Pick: Andrey Koreshkov (-260) at DraftKings Sportsbook

Other Bellator 274 Picks:

  • Adam Piccolotti (-310): Piccolotti vs. Karakhanyan will be an all-action fight, but the American is the better striker and will do enough on the feet to win a decision.
  • Davion Franklin (+102): Franklin is a highly-touted prospect and will eventually find the KO shot in the first or second over a savvy veteran in Sowma.
