Can Khan Return to the Win Column?

Amir Khan (11-6) is on a three-fight losing streak and has been finished in his past two. To begin the losing streak, he lost to Eduard Folayang for the welterweight title. After that, he lost to Ariel Sexton and Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev.

He has been with ONE since his second professional fight and has put up a record of 11-5 with notable wins over Honorio Banario and Adrian Pang.

Ev Ting (17-6) is coming off of a second-round submission win over Daichi Abe to snap his own two-fight losing skid. He was knocked out by Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev in 25 seconds and was submitted to Shinya Aoki in 57 seconds. He also lost to Eduard Folayang for the lightweight title. Ting holds notable wins over Honorio Banario, Will Chope, and Ariel Sexton.

Ting is hoping this fight is his first step toward a title shot in his new weight class, while Khan is hoping to get being the top-prospect many people expected him to be.

In this fight, Khan will have the striking advantage and should look to keep this fight on the feet, using his jab to keep the distance. While Ting is a solid striker, he also has a underrated ground game which includes four wins by submission. I believe Khan will have the advantage in the first round and a half and after that, Ting should be able to take over.

We have seen Ting be finished early in fights before, and Khan has power. Yet I like Ting’s chances to survive an early flurry of punches and earn a late stoppage or decision win.

Pick: Ev Ting (-165)
