There’s just a single ticket left in the Conference Finals of the East’s NBA Playoff Bracket.
No matter the outcome, either the Philadelphia 76ers or the Boston Celtics are going to come away very disappointed.
The two teams with the best records left in the postseason will clash in Game 7, with the winner advancing to face the 8th-seeded Miami Heat, who dispatched the Knicks on Friday night.
The win-or-go-home scenario goes Sunday (May 14) at 3:30pm ET from TD Garden in Boston, MA. You can watch the game live on ABC.
76ers vs Celtics Game 7 Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Philadelphia 76ers | +6.5 (-110) | +225 | O 201 (-110) |
Boston Celtics | -6.5 (-110) | -265 | U 201 (-110) |
The Celtics are 6.5-point home favourites in the NBA odds, including -265 on the moneyline, an expected win probability of 72.60%.
It’s a fair line: in 146 Game 7’s in NBA history, the home team has a dominant 110-36 mark.
After a slugfest of a Game 6, which Boston won 95-86 to even the series at 3-3 and force a Game 7, the total has plummeted to a minuscule 201 points, a whopping 11.5-point decline from last game.

Tatum Awakens Just in Time For Boston
It was a nightmare that was heading to a potential state of the union address for Boston’s franchise guy.
In an elimination game, the Celtics, a title finalist a year ago and the current betting favorite in the NBA Championship odds, were in a dogfight at Wells Fargo with Jayson Tatum an extreme non factor.
Just 1-for-13 from the field and 0-for-6 from downtown, Tatum got it together, outscoring Philadelphia himself 16-13 in the final frame to lead Boston to the crucial road win. He drilled four of five from distance.

Marcus Smart had 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, Jaylen Brown had 17 points, six boards and four dimes, while Malcolm Brogdon chipped in with 16 points and six boards. Those three, however, each had four turnovers, part of 18 for the C’s that turned into 18 points.
This was the lowest scoring output of the series for Boston, but their defense forced Philly into their lowest output of the series, holding them to 36.1% shooting from the field, including 8-for-34 from deep, a lowly 23.5% clip.
Boston’s insertion of Robert Williams III into the starting lineup paid immediate dividends, as they raced out to a 15-3 lead. Expect them to stick with that supersized frontcourt.
76ers Can’t Close East Finals Berth
After the biggest win of the Joel Embiid-James Harden era in Game 5 to put them into pole position, the Sixers whittled in the clutch. With the game tied at 81, they watched Boston end the game on a 14-5 run, missing a chance to clinch a Conference Finals’ berth for the first time since 2001.
Embiid had 26 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks, but the newly-minted MVP was ignored for much of the fourth, failing to even get touches in the final four minutes.

Almost. Embiid’s final touch came with 3:59 left.
That 1 touch is tied for the fewest he had in the final 4 minutes of a game all year. October 24—a blowout vs. the Pacers—he also had… pic.twitter.com/aCDxO3AjEg

James Harden hit the bottom end of the yo-yo, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. He didn’t score in the fourth quarter, missing all four shots. He’ll be under a major microscope in another playoff prove-it game.
Tyrese Maxey had 26 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals, but Tobias Harris was on a milk carton, scoring two points on 1-for-7 shooting.
76ers vs Celtics Prop Bets & Predictions
Besides two 40 bombs, Harden has gone for 17 points or less in four other series games, and Philly has gone 1-3. We’re banking on the Beard breaking his disappearing act in clutch playoff games rep, at least in scoring. Take the over of 20.5 points (+105).
Jaylen Brown has had at least three turnovers in four games in this series, including in three of the last four. That 2.5-TO line is priced well enough (-135) to take a dip.
And in the last four games, Tobias Harris went for 16 in the Game 5 win … and 18 across the other three games. With Embiid, Harden and Maxey dominating the ball, his offense takes a hit. Tag the under 12.5 points (-105).

As for the Game 7 result, the 76ers are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall, but they are just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 against the C’s.
Boston has been nothing close to clutch at home in the playoffs, though, running a 7-9 mark in their last 16 postseason games at TD.
Still, it’s the total you should be targeting here. The two teams have crushed this figure in the five previous games prior to the Game 6 result. Boston has gone over the total in eight of their last 10. Punish the books for the overcorrection.
Pick: OVER 201 points (-110)
