  • Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker is the new -175 odds-on favorite to win the NBA 2K20 Players Tournament as they enter the semi-finals
  • Previous betting choice Patrick Beverley also reached the final four but his odds increased to +200. Is Booker the best bet now?
  • Analysis of semifinal matchups and picks to win it all are in the following story

When it comes to the NBA 2K20 players tournament, oddsmakers have determined that it’s time to make book on Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker.

Booker defeated Rui Hachimura of the Washington Wizards 71-55 in his quarterfinal. He’s now the -175 favorite to win the tournament.

Booker will face Montrezl Harrell of the Los Angeles Clippers in one semifinal Friday at 5 pm (all times EST). The other final-four matchup is also a Clippers-Suns showdown. LA’s Patrick Beverley is tangling with Phoenix’s DeAndre Ayton at 7 pm.

Odds to Win NBA 2K20 Players Tournament

Player Team Odds

Patrick Beverley Los Angeles Clippers +200
Deandre Ayton Phoenix Suns +375
Montrezl Harrell Los Angeles Clippers +1000

Odds taken April 11th.

Both games are being broadcast by ESPN. The winners will meet in the final at 9 pm. That game is also scheduled for ESPN.

Booker Living Up to Seeding

The #5 seed in the bracket when this 16-player single-elimination tourney got underway, Booker is the lowest seed still alive for the title. He’s lived up to his billing.

Against Hachimura, Booker fell behind early in the game. He proved a quick study, though, and altered his game plan to adjust to Hachimura’s strengths.

Playing as the Dallas Mavericks against Hachimura’s Clippers, Booker began double-teaming Clippers stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, forcing Hachimura to try and beat him with lesser players.

Having downed the virtual Clippers, Booker must now defeat an actual Clipper. Harrell, the eight seed, got to the semis by posting a 71-66 win over Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr.

Pick: Devin Booker

Beverley Was 2K Chalk

The bookmakers are treating Patrick Beverley like he was a yo-yo. Orginally, the Clippers guard was the #14 seed in this tournament and listed at odds of +2000.

However, after he throttled Hassan Whiteside of the Portland Trail Blazers 84-54 in his first-round match, Beverley was established as the +150 chalk to win it all. Then he was forced to rally to defeat Andre Drummond of the Cleveland Cavaliers 69-62 in a hard-fought second-round affair.

Beverley dropped to the second betting choice to win the championship at +200. But are the books forgetting that Drummond crushed DeMarcus Cousins of the Los Angeles Lakers 101-49 in the opening round? He was a formidable foe for Beverley.

Ayton opened as the 10 seed but posted an impressive 73-66 triumph over Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks in the Elite Eight.

Pick: Patrick Beverley.

And the Winner Is . . .

Logic suggests that youth should rule in the video game world. Booker is 23. Ayton is 21. Both Harrell (26) and Beverley (31) are old hands.

Beverley, though, has displayed uncanny savvy at the controls in this tourney. He’s still the one to beat.

Pick: Patrick Beverley (+200).
