Odds as of June 11th

Young Goes Off

Trae Young did not have a great stat line in Game 2. The 76ers beat up the Hawks, especially inside, and as a result evened the series at one game apiece. The game had some bettors saying Young’s performance was dictated by the defense of Ben Simmons.

To that I say, let’s see Ben Simmons defend this.

Trae Young only took 16 shots from the floor in Game 2 which was his lowest total in the playoffs so far. Of those 16 shots, he only hit six. Here’s the thing, he still walked out of the Wells Fargo Center with 21 points. 21 points in a game where he wasn’t even close to his best.

Tonight the series shifts to Atlanta, or the “A” for you kids, and one has to think Trae will be Trae again. I highly doubt he takes only 16 shots tonight and I highly doubt he only hits six. 25+ shots tonight is certainly in the realm of possibilities after losing Game 2 the way they did.

If Young takes anywhere near 25 shots tonight, he is a good bet to drop a 30-burger in front of the home crowd. At +140, I call this a must bet.

  • The Pick: Young to score 30+ Points (+140)

Aaron Gordon Rises

Aaron Gordon is not going to drop 30 on anybody tonight. His chances of scoring 20 points in this game are pretty slim. But, Gordon is a part of what the Nuggets like to do on offense especially with all the attention paid the Nikola Jokic. Sometimes even good teams forget that Gordon can flat out get off the floor.

So far, Gordon has played at least 28 minutes in six of the Nuggets’ eight playoff games. In all six of those games, he has scored at least 13 points. He’s not going too far over that number, but he is getting over.

With the Nuggets being slight favorites in Game 3, it can be expected that Gordon flirts with 30 minutes again tonight. If he does, I think he is a safe bet to score at least 13 points. Especially at +132 odds.

  • The Pick: Gordon Over 12.5 points (+132) *Alt Line
