Haliburton Gets it Going From Deep

Tyrese Haliburton has been a tremendous addition to the Indiana Pacers, giving them a legitimate young point guard to build around for the future. In his early days with the team, Haliburton is already proving his worth. The youngster is averaging 19.2 points, 9.5 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game on a 42% clip from downtown. The latter is what the focus will be for Saturday’s contest.

Haliburton shoots the three-ball extremely well and he also takes them at a relatively high clip. The former Iowa State standout attempts 6.7 triples per night and converts an average of 2.8. Last time out against the Cavs, the 22-year-old balled out for 25 points and nine dimes while going an impressive 4 for 7 from beyond the arc. In fact, Haliburton has hit the over in treys in four of his previous six outings.

The Pacers will be facing the Spurs here, who allow their opponents to shoot almost 36% from deep. That’s the 20th worst in the Association. Haliburton gets a ton of touches and clearly doesn’t lack confidence when it comes to shooting the ball. Follow the trends and lock in the over in threes.

  • Pick: Tyrese Haliburton Over 2.5 Threes (+106)

Giannis Keeps Hot Streak Going

The Greek Freak is enjoying yet another MVP caliber campaign. While he probably won’t win the award, Giannis wreaks havoc on his oppositions most nights. The last two games for the Bucks star have been utterly dominant, dropping 39 points on Tuesday night against the Thunder then erupting for 43 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists the next day in a win over the Hawks. That being said, he hit the over in points in both of these contests.

In fact, he tends to show out against better opponents, posting 30+ versus the Grizzlies, Celtics, Nets, Lakers, and Sixers this season. Also, Antetokounmpo went for 30 points in his last meeting with the Warriors on January 13th.

Now this may feel a bit risky given the over/under is set at 31.5, but Giannis is fresh off back-to-back phenomenal performances.

You also have to consider, who is going to stop him defensively on Golden State? Without Draymond Green, they don’t exactly have someone who can contain the 2021 Finals MVP. It’s worth a bet.

  • Pick: Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 31.5 (-110)
