The Thunder and 76ers have a long history dating back to when the Thunder were the Seattle SuperSonics. In recent years, Philadelphia has had the upper hand, winning 7 of the last 8 meetings, including a 127-123 victory in Oklahoma City earlier this season.

10/24/2021 | OKC 103 – PHI 115 | PHI -9.5 | O 215.5 |
In the two head-to-head meetings this year, the over hit in both the November 25 game (250 combined points vs 230.5 total) and the January 12 affair (247 combined points vs 234 total).
OKC Thunder Betting Analysis
The Thunder come into this game riding a two-game winning streak, including a 113-112 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday. Jalen Williams led the way with an impressive 33-point performance on 14-of-18 shooting, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit the game-winning shot.
OKC has been one of the best teams in the league this season, currently sitting atop the Western Conference with a 52-22 record. The Thunder have one of the most dominant offenses in the league, ranking third in points per game (120.4) and second in field goal percentage (50.0%).

Gilgeous-Alexander has been the driving force behind the Thunder’s success, averaging 30.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 53.9% from the field. The dynamic guard is a leading candidate in the NBA MVP odds and has consistently delivered in clutch moments.
Jalen Williams has emerged as a reliable secondary scorer, putting up 19.5 points per game on 54.0% shooting. Rookie sensation Chet Holmgren has also made a significant impact, averaging 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.

However, the Thunder have been dealt a significant blow ahead of this crucial matchup. Jalen Williams has been ruled out for the game, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not participate in the team’s shootaround. SGA’s official injury designation for Tuesday is “questionable”.
Defensively, the Thunder have been solid, ranking sixth in defensive rating (112.6). Holmgren has been a game-changer on that end of the floor, using his length and timing to block shots and alter attempts at the rim. OKC also ranks first in the league in forcing turnovers (15.7 per game).
76ers Betting Analysis
The 76ers, meanwhile, are coming off a 135-120 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Kelly Oubre Jr. led the way with 32 points, while Cameron Payne and Tobias Harris added 24 and 21 points, respectively. Philadelphia drained a franchise-record 24 shots from deep.
The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Philadelphia, who currently sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference NBA Playoff Bracket with a 40-35 record. One area where the 76ers have struggled this season is rebounding, ranking just 19th in the league with 42.7 rebounds per game.

Joel Embiid, who has been out since January 30 with a left knee injury, is expected to return this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday against OKC. Embiid’s presence would provide a significant boost for the 76ers. He was averaging 35.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game before his injury.

The latest Embiid injury update is that the star center didn’t attend Tuesday morning’s shootaround and has officially been ruled out against the Thunder. This is a tough blow, as Embiid’s return would potentially level the playing field against this elite OCK team.
In Embiid’s absence, Tyrese Maxey has stepped up as the team’s leading scorer, averaging 25.6 points and 6.2 assists per game. Maxey was at shootaround Tuesday, but he remains questionable with left hip tightness after sitting out Sunday’s win in Toronto.
OCK Thunder vs Philadelphia 76ers Prediction
If Gilgeous-Alexander is unable to play, it would obviously be a significant blow to the Thunder’s chances of securing a victory against the 76ers. The All-Star guard has been the driving force behind OKC’s success this season and is a leading candidate for MVP.
The Thunder’s ability to force turnovers and convert them into fast-break points will still be a key factor in this game. Additionally, OKC’s league-leading 3-point shooting percentage will allow them to stretch the floor and create driving lanes for their athletic wings.
Although the 76ers are 24-13 at the Wells Fargo Center and have had OCK’s number lately, we like the Thunder here. Oklahoma City is the more complete team, and their elite defense will be the difference against a 76ers offense that is missing its best weapon.
