Suns Acquire Durant, But at a Price
Phoenix gave up a lot in order to acquire KD. The full trade sees Brooklyn moving Durant and TJ Warren to Phoenix in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, and four first-round picks.
The Suns are sending Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, a 2028 pick swap for Durant and TJ Warren, sources tell ESPN. Durant wanted move and new owner Mat Ishbia pushed to get deal done tonight. https://t.co/fqFUMIDllo

Bridges (17.2 PPG) and Johnson (13.9 PPG) were Phoenix’s third and fourth-leading scorers. On the trade block all season, Crowder has yet to play a minute this year.
Durant, himself, has been out with a knee injury since Jan. 8 and does not have a timetable for return. But the prognosis as of yesterday was “positive”, according to reports. It can be assumed the Suns did their due diligence and are satisfied Durant will return in the near future unless his recovery takes an unforeseen step backwards
Nets’ Odds Fall to +10000
The Nets’ odds to win the 2023 NBA title were +800 at this time last week. In the interim, not only did they deal Durant, they also moved star/disgruntled point guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.
While Bridges and Johnson will be immediate contributors to their new squad, the Nets are nonetheless a shadow of the team that took the court in October. Oddsmakers dropped their NBA title odds to +10000 on Thursday afternoon.
