Currently holding just above the play-in fracas in the West’s NBA Playoff Bracket, the Los Angeles Clippers (42-38, 22-18 home) can inch closer to solidifying a top-6 seed when they host the Portland Trail Blazers (33-47, 16-24).
The Blazers have cratered post all-star break, currently running with seven losses in their last eight games, the latest a loss to the lowly San Antonio Spurs.
LA whipped the Lakers for the 11th straight game last time out, and they’ll again be without all-star Paul George, who is still out with a knee injury. They’ll try to extend their dominance over the Blazers to five straight wins and victories in 10 of the last 11.

Trail Blazers vs Clippers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Portland Trail Blazers | +16.5 (-110) | +1000 | OFF |
Los Angeles Clippers | -16.5 (-110) | -1800 | OFF |
With a heavily depleted lineup (more on that below), the NBA odds have the Blazers as massive 16.5-point underdogs. The Clips are -1800 on the moneyline, giving them an implied win probability of 94.74%.
LA is looking for the 3-game season series sweep, and to improve on their 22-18 home record, which is tied for the 2nd-fewest home wins of any team in the West’s top 10.
Portland, meanwhile, is just 16-24 on the road, and are wrapping up a 4-game trip, currently with just one win to show for it.

Portland Betting Analysis
For a team with eyes firmly on the upcoming draft and beyond, Portland has a chance to throw a wrench into some plans in the West playoff picture, playing both the Clippers and Warriors to close out the season.
However, they’re nowhere near anything resembling a professional basketball roster. Already shut down for the year is Damian Lillard (calf), while Jerami Grant (quadricep), Anfernee Simons, Jusuf Nurkic (knee), Matisse Thybulle (knee) and Nasir Little (ankle) are all out.

Rookie Shaedon Sharpe (knee) and Kevin Knox II (quadricep) are probable, while Drew Eubanks (ankle) and Cam Reddish (back) are questionable.
Portland lost 129-127 to the Spurs last game, trotting out a starting lineup of Jeenathan Williams, Skylar Mays, Jonathan Butler Jr, Trendon Watford and Eubanks.
Knox led the team in scoring with 24 points and three rebounds off the bench, while Eubanks had 23 points and nine rebounds.
Los Angeles Betting Analysis
Norman Powell will never be mistaken for George, but the California kid has been a dynamite scoring reserve, and a big reason why the Clippers dumped the Lakers 125-118 last game.
He scored a team-high 27 points, with four assists and two steals, while making 10 trips to the stripe without a miss. Kawhi Leonard added 25 points, seven boards and four dimes.

Both were instrumental in separate wins over the Blazers this season. Kawhi had 24 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 117-102 win on March 19.
With Leonard and PG out of the lineup November 29, Powell had a team-high 32 points, with four rebounds in a 118-112 victory.
Bones Hyland was huge in the fourth quarter against the Lakers, scoring all 14 of his points in the final frame, keeping Russell Westbrook on the sideline with his 14 points. Both players also had four assists.
The win kept the Clippers in the top six, and put an end to a 2-game losing skid.

Trail Blazers vs Clippers Betting Prediction
Portland is unrecognizable, road-weary and have just two wins in their last 15, losing by an average of 14.3 points. Their season can’t end soon enough.
That doesn’t mean they can’t be a decent road bet: the Blazers are actually 20-19 against the spread as a visiting team, just outside the top 10 in the NBA. And despite the losses piling up, they are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games vs teams with a winning home record.
LA has been a force in this head-to-head, though, going a perfect 6-0 ATS in the last six at crypto, and 4-0 ATS in the last four against the Blazers overall.
They’re also 6-1 ATS in their last seven against teams with a losing record. With too much at stake, LA takes care of business and wins going away.
Pick:
- Clippers -16.5 (-110); 1.5 units to win 1.36 units
- NBA Betting Record: 38-39-1 ATS, 2-2 ML, 8-0 o/u, 0-3 parlays; -11.95 units
