  • Los Angeles is a 2.5-point favorite in the Warriors vs Lakers odds ahead of Game 6 of their second-round playoff series on Monday
  • Anthony Davis is probable after leaving Game 5 with a head injury

If the Lakers hope to close out the Warriors and advance to the West Final, they better take care of business in Game 6. LA was blown out in their first opportunity to eliminate Golden State on Wednesday, and the last thing they want is to have to return to the Bay Area for a series deciding Game 7.

Online sportsbooks are leaning their way ahead of Game 6 in the NBA odds, as they opened the Lakers as small home favorites. LA is 6-0 in the playoffs and Play-In Tournament so far in their own building, and haven’t lost there since March 26th.

GS vs LAL Injury Report

The big news after Game 5 wasn’t the Warriors staving off elimination, but the health of Anthony Davis. The Lakers’ star center left the game after suffering a head injury midway through the final quarter and did not return. There were reports he was even taken to the locker room in a wheelchair, but thankfully for LA backers he appears to be fine.

AD reportedly avoided the concussion protocol and is considered probable to play in Game 6. A source close to Davis told ESPN there is no scenario he can envision where AD would sit, and his presence on the court is imperative for the Lakers’ winning prospects. Davis is averaging 22.4 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game this series.

AD isn’t the only big name to pop up on the injury report ahead of Game 6. Andrew Wiggins has been listed as questionable with a rib injury, after his most productive game of the playoffs. Wiggins poured in 25 points in Game 5, while grabbing 7 boards and dishing out 5 assists.

Golden State vs Los Angeles Betting Splits and Trends

Whether AD plays or not, bettors are banking on the Warriors to pull off the upset. Golden State is garnering 75% of all money bet on the spread so far, and 73% of the moneyline handle.

Total wise, there is a serious divide between the public and the big money bettors. 75% of the over/under tickets so far are on over 221, but those wagers represent just 49% of the total handle. The under on the other hand, is garnering 51% of the money off of just 29% of the tickets.

Warriors vs Lakers Series Odds

Team Odds
Golden State Warriors +195
Los Angeles Lakers -235

As for the series odds market, LA’s price to advance in the NBA playoff bracket has been lengthened from -450 to -235. Golden State is coming back as a +195 underdog, shortened from +350, as they look to pull off a feat they’ve accomplished before.

The Warriors erased a 3-1 series deficit versus the Thunder back in 2016, en route to a Finals appearance. Golden State is 8-2 when facing elimination dating back to 2015, but still boast the fourth longest NBA Championship odds (+950) of the eight teams remaining.

Warriors vs Lakers Predictions

Victories and low scoring games have dominated Laker home games so far this postseason. LA was fortunate to escape Game 4 at home with a win, relying on Lonnie Walker and some uncharacteristic misses from Steph Curry in the final minutes. The under in that matchup was never in doubt, and it’s been a profitable wager in nearly all of the Lakers home games so far.

The under is 5-1 in LA’s playoffs and Play-In Tournament games at crypto.com Arena, and 2-0 in this series. The Lakers have yet to allow more than 111 points at home in the postseason, while posting a defensive rating of 96.9, 18 points better than their mark as visitors.

Warriors vs Lakers Same-Game Parlay Picks

Team Odds
Under 225.5 -172
Steph Curry 4+ Threes -380
Austin Reaves Under 14.5 Points -115
Same-Game Parlay Odds +254

We’ll target an alternate total of 225.5 to give us some cushion as the first leg of our Warriors vs Lakers same-game parlay. Next, we’ll add 4+ threes for Curry, who’s got a fantastic track record in elimination games. Curry averages 29 points and 4.5 threes with his season on the line in 13 career games. His minutes get ramped up to over 41, and we should expect 24+ field goal attempts, just like we’ve seen in back-to-back contests.

Last, but not least, let’s fade Austin Reaves’ 14.5 point total. Reaves has taken 12 and 15 shots respectively over the past two games, which is not a recipe the Lakers want to count on. The rookie is shooting just 38% from the field this series, failing to reach 15 points three times.

Picks:

  • Under 221 (-110)
  • Same-Game Parlay (+254)
