Texas vs Alabama Early Odds & Prediction

Both teams defeated Group of Five schools on Saturday in their season openers with Alabama routing Middle Tennessee State 56-7 and Texas handling Rice 37-10.

After winning a three-way competition for the starting job, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe threw three touchdown passes covering 47, 48 and 29 yards while also rushing for two scores. Texas QB Quinn Ewers also got off to a strong start with three scoring passes and one rushing TDs.

It might only be one game as QB1, but Milroe certainly looks like a potential star for the Crimson Tide as he takes over for 2021 Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, giving confidence Alabama can cover the spread in this matchup.

Pick: Alabama -8 (-110)

Ole Miss vs Tulane Early Odds & Prediction

Both teams, as expected, opened their seasons with wins on Saturday. Ole Miss throttled Mercer 73-7 and Tulane defeated South Alabama 37-17.

Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart threw for 334 yards in barely more than two quarters and connected with Tre Harris for three touchdown passes in the first four minutes of the game. Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt had a very efficient performance as he completed 14 of 15 passes for 294 yards and four TDs.

While Ole Miss is favored, this is a tough spot for the Rebels as they play on the road against the only ranked Group of Five team. Look for Tulane to slip under the number if not win outright.

Pick: Tulane +6 (-110)

That’s Outta Line

Visiting #14 Utah has opened as a 5.5-point favorite over Baylor. However, that line seems a little light based on the season-opening results for both teams.

Utah handled Florida 24-11 while Baylor was upset by Texas State 42-31. It seems that the Utes should be bigger favorites, so look for this line to go higher.
