Perhaps the demise of Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens has been slightly overblown. Bettors were chomping at the bit to bet against the Ravens in Week 9, moving the line in their contest versus the Indianapolis Colts from -2.5 to +1 by kickoff.
Baltimore responded by taking care of business, forcing two turnovers (one of which was returned for a touchdown) and holding Indy to 10 points.
The Ravens now set their sights on a Week 10 Sunday Night Football game in Foxborough (Nov. 15, 8:20 pm EST), against the 3-5 New England Patriots.

Baltimore opened up as a 6.5-point favorite in a game that features a low total of just 41.5. The under is 5-3 in Ravens games in 2020, while the Pats hit the over for the fourth time this season, in a 30-27 victory on Monday Night Football over the winless New York Jets.
Pats Finally Rebound
It wasn’t pretty, but New England finally snapped its four-game losing streak in Week 9. Cam Newton had one of his best days as a Patriot, rushing for two scores, and throwing for 274 yards. Superman saved his best work for the 4th quarter, orchestrating three straight scoring drives to help erase a 10-point deficit.

What’s concerning is that through the first three quarters, the defense looked atrocious. They let Joe Flacco and Gang Green march up and down the field, surrendering 27 points to the lowest scoring team in the league. New York averaged 7.3 yards per play, and if not for multiple lapses by their defense, the Jets could have won going away.

New England played its second straight game without reigning defensive player of the year Stephon Gilmore due to a knee injury, and they’ll be desperately hoping he’s available for Sunday night’s showdown versus Baltimore.
Baltimore Silences Critics
Jackson and the Ravens meanwhile, received plenty of negative buzz leading into their Week 9 contest, following a loss to the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. Jackson in particular was criticized heavily, after committing a career-worst four turnovers.

The reigning MVP took care of the football versus the Colts, rushing for 58 yards and a score, while throwing for another 170 yards. His numbers aren’t as eye popping as his 2019 campaign, but he’s still on pace for 24 TD passes, nearly 1,400 rushing yards and 10 rushing TD.

More importantly, Baltimore’s only two losses have come against the Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the two best teams in the NFL. They’re 6-0 in the rest of their contests, with a +103 point differential.
On the injury front, the Ravens did lose defensive lineman Calais Campbell to a calf strain and corner Khalil Dorsey to a separated shoulder, but will likely welcome back Marlon Humphrey who missed Sunday’s game due to a positive COVID test.
Line Heading In Baltimore’s Favor
Given how strong Baltimore looked in Week 9, and how badly the Pats struggled with the winless Jets, it won’t be long before this game reaches a full touchdown in the Ravens favor.

Don’t forget Baltimore destroyed New England on Sunday Night Football in 2019, beating a much better version of the Patriots by 17 points. Jackson threw for a touchdown and ran for two others that night, and if that Pats defense couldn’t slow him down, this year’s team will be hard pressed to contain him.
