Bears vs Packers Injury Report & Inactives for SNF Week 2 – Green Bay Offensive Line Banged Up
- The final Bears vs Packers injury report for the Week 2 SNF game is available
- The Green Bay Packers injury report is showing that both starting tackles could be out
- Kick returner Velus Jones Jr is the only Bears regular who is doubtful
As they prepare to face the Chicago Bears in the NFL Week 2 SNF game, the final Bears vs Packers injury report is showing that the Green Bay Packers are hurting, and not just because of their 23-7 Week 1 loss at Minnesota.
Both of Green Bay’s starting tackles – left tackle David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins – are questionable starters. So is starting left guard Jon Runyan.
On the other side of the ball, the Bears will be taking the field relatively injury free. Backup wide receiver and first-string punt returner Velus Jones is listed as doubtful.
Let’s take a look at the full Chicago vs Green Bay injury report below and how it could impact the Bears v Packers odds that see Green Bay favored by 10 points.

Chicago Bears Injury Report
Chicago lists only one player on the injury report, and it looks as though he’ll be playing. That should have an effect on the Bears vs Packers betting line. Jones didn’t practice on Friday, but he did travel with the team to Green Bay for the game. Expectations are that he will be suiting up for the game.
Jones is suffering from the same nagging hamstring issue that was plaguing him throughout training camp and the preseason. The Bears were projecting that the rookie from Tennessee would be beefing up their kick return game.

Last season with the Volunteers, Jones ended up averaging 27.3 yards per kickoff return and 15.1 yards per punt return. He was inactive for Chicago’s Week 1 game.
Tackle Riley Reiff (shoulder) and FB Khari Blasingame (personal) were full participants in practice on Friday and their names were removed from the Chicago injury report.

Green Bay Packers Injury Report
Outwardly, the Packers are appearing hopeful that all three of their ailing offensive linemen may be able to answer the bell for the 8:20pm ET kickoff at Lambeau Field. Jenkins was a practice participant all week, albeit on a limited basis.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that Bakhtiari will be on alternating practice day routine all season long. The design is to be easing the burden on his oft-injured knee.
Packers’ WR Allen Lazard, listed as questionable for Sunday night due to a sprained ankle, is expected to play vs. the Bears, per source.

Runyan, meanwhile, is in the NFL concussion protocol, If he’s able to clear before game time, he will be suiting up.
The best news for the Packers is that wide receiver Allen Lazard’s sprained ankle looks to be healed up enough to get him back into action for Week 2.
How Could Injuries Affect Bears vs Packers Betting Line?
The Bears were giving second-year 49ers QB Trey Lance fits during last week’s win over San Francisco. They sacked him twice, had four QB hits and picked him off once.
With his offensive line in tatters, Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers was sacked four times last week by the Vikings. He was also the victim of five QB hits. Another week of Green Bay O-line uncertainly will certainly be impacting the Bears vs Packers NFL public betting splits.
The Packers current list 11 offensive linemen on the roster. If Jenkins and Bakhtiari can’t play, Yosh Nijman (left tackle) and Royce Newman (right tackle) will gain their second consecutive starting assignments. Normally the starting right guard, Newman’s spot would be filled by Jake Hanson should he be needing to slide over to tackle. If Runyan does not clear concussion protocol, look for Zach Tom to once more get the start at left guard.
Lazard’s return is a big boost for those considering a play on the Bears vs Packers player props. He’s caught a TD pass in three of Green Bay’s last four games against the Bears.
