Russell Wilson will square off against one of his biggest rivals on Sunday Night Football yet again in Week 3, although this time in a different uniform. Wilson and his Denver Broncos (1-1, 1-0 home) will host the San Francisco 49ers (1-1, 0-1 away) in a game that isn’t expected to produce many offensive fireworks.

The game features a total of just 44, down from its 46-point opening line. The majority of bettors are down on this Denver team in the 49ers vs Broncos public betting splits, and we’re looking to fade Wilson in our SNF same-game parlay.

Russell Wilson Under 235.5 Passing Yards

Wilson wanted badly out of Seattle so that he could go to a team that would let him air it out more often. In a cruel twist of fate, through two games the Seahawks are a top-seven team in pass percentage while the Broncos are 16th.

Wilson has failed to live up to his $245 million contract so far, completing only 59% of his passes and throwing just two touchdowns through two weeks. The Broncos passing offense grades out 22nd per Pro Football Focus, while one of his top targets Jerry Jeudy is prominently featured in the 49ers vs Broncos injury report.

To make matters worse, this San Fran defense is an imposing unit. They rank fourth defensively per DVOA and have surrendered only 26 points. They’ve held both of the quarterbacks they’ve faced under 200 passing yards, while generating pressure at the league’s fifth highest rate.

Deebo Samuel Anytime TD

Deebo Samuel was put on earth to score touchdowns plain and simple. How else do you explain his last 18 regular season games. Samuel’s found the end zone 15 times during that stretch, despite touching the ball only 155 times. That’s one touchdown every 10.5 touches.

He’s just as dangerous on the ground as he is through the air, and his rushing snaps are going to keep increasing with Eli Mitchell on the shelf.

The matchup is difficult, as Denver’s defense ranks fifth per DVOA, but they are vulnerable against the run. The Broncos rank 28th in rush defense per PFF, and just surrendered 4.6 yards per carry last week to Texans rookie Dameon Pierce. Fire up Deebo in the 49ers vs Broncos player props.

San Francisco 49ers -1.5

Needless to say the Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett era in Denver is off to a tumultuous start. Hackett has been guilty of some horrific coaching decisions, most notably attempting a 65-yard game winning field goal in the season opener, instead of going for it on fourth down.

His team is undisciplined, as evident by their 25 penalties through two weeks, and he hasn’t shown the creativity as a play caller most people were expecting.

The best thing to happen to the 49ers on the other hand, was the injury to Trey Lance. The sophomore pivot didn’t look ready to be a full-time starter, while Jimmy Garoppolo gives the Niners are a better chance to win.

San Fran grades out higher per overall DVOA than Denver, and the Niners are getting back George Kittle for this matchup. Kittle is arguably the Niners most important offensive piece. He’s a nightmare for the opposing team to cover, and he’s one of the best run blockers on the team.

San Francisco was 1-2 without Kittle last season, averaging nearly a full touchdown less without him than with him in the lineup. The last time he faced Denver, Kittle erupted for over 200 receiving yards and a touchdown. He’s a big reason why expectations for the Niners offense are high in the 49ers vs Broncos picks.
