SGP Pick #1: Jalen Hurts Over 44.5 Rushing Yards

Hurts’ rushing over/under in the Cowboys vs Eagles player props sits at 50.5, a number he’s eclipsed in three of five starts this season. We’re opting to take a slightly less aggressive line at 44.5, which is a number he should clear given his workload on the ground.

Hurts leads all QB’s in rushing attempts with 68, and is on pace for 231 carries. That would be by far the most of any quarterback in NFL history. He’s taken off 31 times in the last two games alone, and given how much pressure Dallas generates, Hurts will be running early and often to escape the pass rush.

The Cowboys are second in the NFL with 21 sacks, and rank first in pass rush productivity per Pro Football Focus.

SGP Pick #2: Cooper Rush Under 244.5 Passing Yards

Don’t let the narrative of Rush’s undefeated run fool you. Dallas is not winning games because of Rush, their stacking victories in spite of him. Rush has attempted fewer than 32 pass attempts in all four starts this season, and last week threw the ball only 16 times.

He’s yet to eclipse 235 passing yards in a game, and a matchup versus the Eagles isn’t a time for that trend to be broken. Philly ranks third in pass defense per DVOA, compared to 20th against the run. That should suit the Cowboys just fine, as only the Falcons have rushed on a higher percentage of their plays over the past three weeks than Dallas.

The Cowboys will also want to run the ball to slow the game down and keep Philly’s offense off the field. That’s just one of the reasons one of our experts is banking on this game going under the total in the Cowboys vs Eagles picks.

SGP Pick #3: DeVonta Smith Over 40.5 Receiving Yards

Back to Hurts for a moment. A.J. Brown has been his preferred target in the passing game, but Brown’s routes take time to develop. That’s a problem not only because of the vaunted Cowboys pass rush, but also because Philly’s offensive line injuries are piling up in the Cowboys vs Eagles injury report.

With their o-line banged up last week versus the Cardinals, Hurts pivoted to the quick passing game which boosted DeVonta Smith’s target volume. Expect that to be the case again this week. Smith hauled in 10 of his 11 targets for 87 yards in Arizona, two weeks after a career-high 169 receiving yards on 12 targets against the Commanders.
