A massive NFC East showdown is on deck tonight on Sunday Night Football. Both the Giants and Commanders enter play with identical 7-5-1 records, with each clinging to one of the last two Wild Card berths.

Entering play on Sunday, all four NFC East teams occupied a playoff spot, however there are still plenty of divisional games to be played which in all likelihood will knock at least one of those squads from postseason contention.

This game was flexed to SNF in place of the Patriots-Raiders tilt, and bettors are backing the G-Men at a healthy clip in the Giants vs Commanders public betting splits. We tend to agree, as do the trends, and we’ll be targeting New York against the spread in our Giants vs Commanders same-game parlay.

New York Giants +4.5

Underdogs were 2-1 ATS on Saturday’s three-game slate, improving to 109-91-6 against the spread for the season. The G-Men are 4-1 ATS on the road in 2022, while Daniel Jones has been a cover machine in his career as a road ‘dog.

Jones is 16-7 against the spread in that role during his four NFL seasons, while New York is 4-0 ATS after a loss this season. Washington on the other hand, has an abysmal track record under the lights. The Commanders are 13-28-2 against the spread in primetime over the past 15 seasons.

Per our Giants vs Commanders picks, Washington is 4-1 ATS this season as favorites, however they’ve yet to cover a game in which they’ve been laying more than 3.5 points.

The Commanders offense enters play ranked 27th per DVOA, while Taylor Heinicke sits 26th in QBR, behind fringe starters like Andy Dalton, Matt Ryan and Marcus Mariota.

Terry McLaurin Over 59.5 Receiving Yards

Heinicke hasn’t played nearly as well as his 5-1-1 record might suggest, but one thing he has done exceptionally well is prioritize getting the ball to Terry McLaurin.

Washington’s number one receiver averages 8.7 targets per game with Heinicke under center, compared to only six looks per outing when Carson Wentz was starting. Not surprisingly, he has a feature role in the Giants vs Commanders player props.

Terry McLaurin vs Giants Week 13

REC TGT YDS TD
8 12 105 1

In their Week 13 meeting McLaurin torched New York for eight catches, 105 yards and a score, and will now face a depleted G-Men secondary. New York will be down multiple defensive backs per the Giants vs Commanders injury report, increasing the likelihood of a big McLaurin game.

Game Total Under 44.5 Points

We simply are not talking enough about how profitable it’s been to bet unders in outdoor divisional games this season. Outdoor divisional games are now 28-15-1 (65.1%) to the under in 2022, including 2-1 in Week 15.

These two teams fell short of their 40.5 point total in Week 13, and while tonight’s total sits at the same number, we’re going to take an alternate line moving it past the key number of 44.

Washington has seen nine of its past 11 games come in under the total, while New York is no stranger to low scoring games. The Giants are 7-5-1 to the under this season, while three of their four road tilts falling short of the number.
