Arguably the two best teams in the NFL meet when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Los Angeles Rams at 4:25pm ET Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

The Buccaneers are off to a 2-0 start in defense of their Super Bowl championship and lead the NFL scoring with an average of 39.5 points a game. The Rams are also 2-0, one of seven unbeaten teams remaining in the league.

The Buccaneers are small road favorites in a game that will be televised to most of the nation by FOX.

Buccaneers vs Rams Odds

Team Moneyline Spread Total
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -125 -1.5 (-110) Over 55 (-110)
Los Angeles Rams +105 +1.5 (-110) Under 55 (-110)

Odds as of September 25th at DraftKings.

The Rams opened a two-point favorites, but the public jumped on the Buccaneers to the point that Tampa Bay is now a 1.5-point pick. Clear skies are expected at kickoff with 73-degree temperatures and a 5-mph wind from the west.

Both Unblemished

The Buccaneers ran their record to 2-0 last week and covered the 13-point spread by beating the Atlanta Falcons 48-25 at home. Tom Brady passed for 276 yards and five touchdowns as Tampa Bay extended its franchise-record winning streak to 10 games.

The Rams also stayed perfect with a 27-24 road victory over the Indianapolis, though Los Angeles did not cover as four-point favorites.

Matt Gay kicked a tiebreaking 38-yard field goal with 2:23 left. Matthew Stafford led the Rams on two late scoring drives.

Last season in Week 11, Jared Goff threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Rams to a 27-24 road upset over the Buccaneers as a four-point favorite.

Can Anyone Stop Brady?

Brady is 44 years old and seemingly unstoppable a year after leading the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl title in his first season with Tampa Bay. He has completed 65.1% of his passes through the first two weeks for 655 yards with nine touchdown passes and two interceptions.

The Buccaneers are fifth in the NFL in passing offense, but the Rams are a solid 11th in pass defense.

Los Angeles could give Brady problems as it has two standout cornerbacks in Jalen Ramsey and Darious Williams. Brady may look to pick on David Long, a corner with less experience.

The Rams gave Brady major problems last season when he completed just 26-of-48 passes for 216 yards with two TDs and two INTs.

Kupp Runneth Over

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp figures to be a matchup problem for a Buccaneers pass defense that ranks 30th among the league’s 32 teams. He has established an instant connection with Stafford, who is in his first season with the Rams after being acquired from the Detroit Lions in a trade for Goff.

Through two games, Kupp has 16 receptions for 271 yards – an average of 16.9 yards a catch – and three touchdowns. That average is up from 10.6 last season when Goff was running the offense.

Kupp has back-to-back games with at least seven receptions and 100 yards. He last did that in 2019.

Stafford has connected on 69.6% of his throws for 599 yards and five scores with one pick.

Injury Update

Rams running back Darrell Henderson (ribs) will be a gametime decision after being injured in the fourth quarter last week. If he can’t play, look for Sony Michel to get the bulk of the carries.

Henderson has rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries this season. Michel has toted the pigskin 11 times for 48 yards.

The Rams can only hope they get this Sony Michel.

Linebacker Jason-Pierre Paul (hand, shoulder) and WR Jaydon Mickens (abdomen) have been ruled out for the Buccaneers. Mickens is Tampa Bay’s primary kickoff and punt returner.

Rams Know The Secret

The Rams are one of the few teams who have been able to slow Brady down since he arrived in Tampa Bay. Look for defensive tackle Aaron Donald and the Rams front to have their way with the Buccaneers’ interior offensive line and Ramsey and Williams to be difference makers in the secondary as Los Angeles ekes out a victory.

The Pick: Rams +105 (1 unit to win 1.05 units)
