  • Jones has missed the past three games, but New England was 3-0 straight up without him
  • All of the Chicago Bears vs New England Patriots inactive and injury reports are assessed in the story below

The New England Patriots (3-3, 3-2-1 ATS) are going to be unleashing their Big Mac attack on the Chicago Bears (2-4, 2-3-1 ATS) in the Week 7 NFL MNF game.

Patriots QB1 Marc Jones was missing in action the past three games due to a high ankle sprain. But he’s been cleared to play in this game.

New England, the chalk in the NFL odds for this game, went 3-0 straight up the past three weeks with Jones on the sideline.

The Patriots are showing a dozen players listed as questionable to play on Monday. On the other hand, the Bears are listing no starters with an injury designation.

On the betting line. New England are 7.5-point home favorites for this game in the Bears vs Patriots picks.

Chicago Bears Injury Report

It’s Week 7 of the NFL season and the Chicago Bears are sitting there with no significant injuries. That’s an utterly mind-boggling outcome for an NFL team.

The last Bears players with an injury designation – former Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry (ankle), starting left cornerback Jaylon Johnson (quadricep) and backup strong safety Dane Cruickshank (hamstring) – all returned to full practice participation by the end of the week.

Backup WR Byron Pringle (calf) and backup right guard Cody Whitehair (knee) are on injured reserve. Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was admitting that in his 14 years in the NFL, he’s never previously encountered a week without a single injury designation.

Chicago may be showing a clean bill of health, but it’s not doing much to impress public money on this game. The Bears vs Patriots public betting splits are showing the Patriots getting 68% of handle and 66% of public money on the spread. The support for New England on the moneyline is even more lopsided. Public betting splits are displaying that there’s 89% of handle and 86% of bets backing the Patriots.

New England Patriots Injury Report

The Patriots are listing no less than a dozen players on their injury report. All 12 of them are listing as questionable.

This group includes five starters. On offense, there’s Jones (ankle), wide receiver Nelson Algohor (hamstring), right guard Mike Onwenu (ankle), and right tackle Isaiah Wynn (shoulder). Defensive starters who are questionable include right defensive end Lawrence Guy (shoulder), SLB Josh Uche (hamstring), LCB Jonathan Jones (ankle), and RCB Jalen Mills (hamstring).

As well, backup DT Christian Barmore (knee), WR Kendrick Bourne (toe), CB Shawn Wade (illness) and WLB Anfernee Jennings (calf) are also questionable. Backup QB Brian Hoyer (concussion) is on IR.

Wade was the only player among this group who was kept out of practice on both Friday and Saturday.

How Could Injuries Affect Bears vs Patriots Betting Lines?

Based on his return to action, should you be playing Jones to go over or under on some of his stats in the Bears vs Patriots NFL player props? It is intriguing to note how well the Patriots were playing without Jones.

New England beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in a game started by Hoyer and finished by third-string QB Bailey Zappe after Hoyer was injured. With Zappe under center, the Patriots toppled the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns

There was even speculation whether a healthy Jones would be unseating Zappe as QB1. Jones was a highly-rated first-round draft pick. He took the Patriots to the NFL postseason as a rookie. Such talk was the height of silliness.

A New England victory on MNF would give Patriots coach Bill Belichick 325 career wins. That would be one more than Bears legend George Halas and move Belichick into sole possession of the second spot among coaches in the NFL all-time wins list.

Also of note for New England is that RB Damien Harris, a recent inactive with a hamstring ailment, is cleared of injury designation. He’s rushed for 287 yards and three touchdowns this season.
