Betting Analysis

After losing their first two games of the season, the defending AFC champion Bengals have won six of eight games. They’ve been wholly average on the road, going 3-and-3, compared to 3-and-1 at home. They’ve really found their footing offensively, however, as Joe Burrow and co. have amassed at least 30 points in four of their last five games.

The scary thing is, the Bengals haven’t had the services of 2021 offensive rookie of the year Ja’Marr Chase for the last three contests as he deals with a hip injury. He is questionable but expected to suit up for this one.

As for the Titans, they quietly keep humming along, with seven wins in their last eight affairs. The lone loss was in overtime against the Chiefs, when Ryan Tannehill couldn’t compete. Their last four victories have all come by at least a touchdown. However, in seven of their ten outings, the under points total has hit.

The Bengals have the 11th-best team according to Pro Football Focus (7th on offense, 18th on defense). Their counterparts are 7th overall (19th on offense and 5th on D).

Injury Report

One key player will miss this affair for the Bengals, with running back Joe Mixon (concussion), out for this game. Samaje Perine, who had three TD catches last week, will start in his place. The good news is WR Ja’Marr Chase may play this one, which would be a huge lift. Three others are questionable, as Cincy doesn’t have a laundry list of players who won’t play.

For Tennessee, starting DL Denico Autry and his seven sacks on the season is out with a knee injury. Four other players including kicker Randy Bullock are questionable to compete.

54% of the bets have been placed for the Titans to cover the 2.5 point spread, with a whopping 83% of bets on the over in Bengals vs Titans NFL betting trends, with 58% of bets placed on the Titans to pull off the upset on the moneyline.

Bengals vs Titans Prediction

Expect a hard nosed, close, difficult battle between these two teams that have no love lost between them. Getting Ja’Marr Chase back could be just enough for the Bengals to land out on top, which offsets the loss of Joe Mixon. Cincy has beaten the Titans in each of the last two seasons.

In terms of the 43 point total, the last five Bengals affairs have gone over, while six of the Titans last seven games have seen the under occur. Something has to give, but the addition of Chase should push this over.

The Pick:

  • Bengals (-2.5); 1 unit to win 0.83 units
  • Over 43 points (-115) 1 unit to win 0.87 units

2022 record: 13-15; -2.11 units
