In an effort to keep their slim lead atop the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys will try to do better in their second game at MetLife Stadium in New York this season, this time in a tilt with their division foe-Giants (Nov. 4, 8:15pm ET).

The G-Men feature a franchise pivot-in-training in Daniel Jones and one of the best running backs in football in Saquon Barkley. Can they throw a wrench in Dallas’ plans?

Bookmaker is reporting that 80% of the against the spread bets have been placed on Dallas, with 56% of the ATS money on the Cowboys. However, if we look at the sharp money bet on this game, 78% is on the Giants.

Something’s gotta give in this one: the Cowboys are just 1-2 ATS on the road, while New York is 1-3 ATS at home.

Cowboys Shredded Last MetLife Visit

The Cowboys were reeling heading into their Week 6 tilt, having lost two in a row after starting the year 3-0. It seemed like New York was the perfect remedy for an ailing team, as Gang Green was winless and welcoming back Sam Darnold from mono.

Darnold ripped up the Cowboys, sending them to their third straight loss – still the lone win of the Jets’ season (and they just lost to the previously winless Dolphins).

Their cushion atop the NFC East was gone, but Dallas bounced back in Week 7 with a crucial 37-10 win over the Eagles – a performance that reminded everyone just how potent a team they can be.

At 4-3, Dallas features the top-ranked offense in the NFL, churning out 437.9 yards a game, and scoring at a 27.1 clip (7th). Dak Prescott is throwing for over 300 yards a contest, but they’re far from one-dimensional.

With one of the best offensive lines in football and powered by stud back Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys are churning out 146 yards a game on the ground, which is good for fourth in the NFL.

This is also a rematch of a Week 1 mismatch, a Dallas 35-17 romp where Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns.

Giants Reeling as Jones Develops

It seems like another season ago when Daniel Jones was inserted into the starting lineup and had the Giants thinking the rebuild was over. He had led the Giants to two straight wins, evening their record to 2-2. But that was against the Bucs and Redskins, and the meaty part of their schedule was still on tap.

The Giants were crushed by the Vikings and Patriots in back-to-back weeks, and have followed those up with better efforts but still losses to the Cardinals and the Lions.

Jones’ development is the most important element for the Giants at this point, and he looked excellent in defeat against Detroit, going 28-for-41 for 322 yards and a career-high four TD passes.

The Giants will need to get off the better starts: during their four-game skid, they’ve been outscored 38-0 in the first quarter. This will also be the third start for Saquon Barkley since returning from injury, and he’ll be looking for his first 100-yard game since Week 2.

His performance against the Lions was his best since getting injured, piling up 143 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown.

Barkley has posted better than 100 scrimmage yards in every game he’s played against the Cowboys.

What’s the Best Bet?

The Giants’ defense has not been good this year, surrendering just under 370 yards a contest, which is fifth-worst in the NFL. Dallas should be able to move the ball methodically and at will. Having seen Philadelphia win on Sunday, they need a win to maintain their lead in the division, and these are the games that a legitimate division contender needs to take care of.

Looking for extra action? The Giants are 22nd in scoring at 19.8 points a game, and they’ve gone under the total in all four home games, a trend that should continue here.

The pick: Cowboys -6.5 (-110) and UNDER 48.0 (-105)
