George Kittle is back. The 49ers All-Pro tight end will make his season debut against the Broncos on Sunday Night Football, after missing the first two games of the season with a groin injury. Kittle will reportedly not have any restrictions, which gives Jimmy Garoppolo another elite weapon in the passing game.
The injury news out of Denver is also promising. Jerry Jeudy is expected to play despite getting knocked out of the Broncos Week 2 game with rib and shoulder injuries. Those two pass catchers are the biggest names to surface, but they’re certainly not the only players on the list.
See below for the latest injury news ahead of tonight’s contest, and how it could impact the betting lines in a game where the 49ers are 1.5-point favorites.

San Francisco 49ers Injury Report
Kittle was questionable prior to each of San Fran’s first two games, but practiced just once during that stretch. This week, he got in limited work on Wednesday and Thursday, before practicing in full on Friday.

Kittle is coming off a pair of down seasons, largely due to injuries, but had over 1,000 receiving yards in 2018 and 2019. He’s also one of the best run blockers on the team, regardless of position. Given Kyle Shannan’s desire to establish the run, Kittle’s presence on Sunday Night Football will be huge.
The 49ers have ruled out backup linemen Daniel Brunskill and Colton McKivitz, as well as second string RB Tyrion Davis-Price.
Another key injury to monitor is the one Arik Armstead is dealing with. The key member of the San Fran’s defensive line is currently questionable with a foot injury, but didn’t practice all week.

San Fran has been ravaged by injuries to start the season, as starting QB Trey Lance is done for the year after breaking his fibula, while starting RB Eli Mitchell is out for multiple weeks with a knee injury.
Denver Broncos Injury Report
The Broncos meanwhile, have an injury list a mile long, although only backup corner Darius Phillips has been ruled out. Jeudy didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but got in limited work on Friday.
#Broncos @jerryjeudy said he suffered chest/rib injury when fell on ball. But he has made significant improvement. He expects to play. Said it’s up to coaches if plays, but he feels like he will based on how he feels today. “God is Good.” He definitely wants to play #Denver7

The 23-year-old had a monster game in Week 1 versus the Seahawks, but was limited to one catch in Week 2 against the Texans before succumbing to his injuries. Fellow wideout K.J. Hamler is also questionable with a knee injury, but he got in full practices on Thursday and Friday. It’s worth noting that Denver has elevated Kendall Hinton from the practice squad as insurance if Jeudy can’t go.
Sophomore corner and former first round pick Patrick Surtain is also expected to play after missing practice early this week with a shoulder injury. Surtain was injured in Week 2 versus Houston, but got in limited work on Thursday and a full practice on Friday.

His team will need him to play a pivotal role if they want to pull off the upset in the 49ers vs Broncos picks.
How Could Injuries Affect 49ers vs Broncos Betting Lines
Denver opened as a 3-point favorite in the 49ers vs Broncos public betting splits, but the line has moved 4.5 points in San Fran’s favor. Kittle’s positive health is partially responsible for that, as the 49ers are just 7-9 in the 16 games that he’s missed during his career.

Another reason for the line move is how bad the Broncos passing game has looked with Russell Wilson under center. Denver grades out 22nd per Pro Football Focus in that category, behind teams like the Texans, Falcons, Steelers and Seahawks. Needless to say, Wilson looks like a strong fade in the 49ers vs Broncos player props.
If you remove Jeudy from the equation, the situation looks dire for the Broncos, and for the probability of this game going over. The total has already dropped two points from 46 to 44 since it opened, and the loss of any explosive playmakers may push the line down even further.
